This was never intended to be a comparison between sub-c & lipo.
My thoughts, no data, just google, I for fact know a lot of people who dead short and put nails through Lipo's just to burn themselves and their houses. <-sarcasm.

It was your posts which turned it into a comparison between the technologies, I am just stating fact, not firing at anyone, perhaps you should read my post again, I said no offense, I just do not understand your arguments.

Question: Is there any issue with using LIFE for servo packs?

I got a 200 mahr LIFE from Nexus and really like it for WGT.

......why not..........just up the motors for stock and mod........i want to get back into electric but don't like what i see with lipo.....these batteries could be the future..........many people were reluctant to go from NIMH to Lipo.............now they will be reluctant to go to these..............fast charging and resistant to cell damage..w...hats NOT to like??.............and no fire hazard............let the change BEGIN...........

No issue in mod.

Spec motors (stock and super stock) if you're down on voltage you're down on speed. All the best driving and setup in the world won't help you there. And different motors for different cells? That's not gonna work. We tried that, it was ugly.

Very few people were reluctant to switch to lipo. AS soon as they became legal WHAM! 80% of the racers switced over. The rest followed when their wallets caught up. There are no issues with LiPo. Just watch what you're doing and you'll be fine.

These might be good cells for receiver packs, no voltage regulator necessary.

No problems there, that is what LIFE are perfect for, I use a 1350 mAh in my MBX6.

Well, Mr. John Stranahan knows what he is talking about, he is not the average Joe with 3k posts for sure. The report, with mod motor seems pretty good for an average Joe.

Googleing who this guy is I found this web:
http://fastestrc.blogspot.com/2007/0...lipo-fire.html Yes they too are not immune!

The knowledgeable Mr. Stranahan broke the number one rule for charging, never charge your pack inside the rc car. I have personally seen a nimh do similar damage to an rc offroad car, in this case it was a Losi XXX and it was charged in the back of a real car and nearly burnt the car to the ground.
