Default TRF415 setup

Hey

I am new to racing and have got myself a trf415msx. With this i will be race 540 silver can to start off with. What is a good setup for my car. The track is mainly chicanes with 2 straights about 6 - 10 meters and a few sweeping corners.

Cheers

Robert

Thanks for your response. I have a few questions about the on http://www.thard.co.uk/415/setups/. With there setups on asphalt why is it they run a spool instead of a one way. Do you get better breaking or traction with the spool?

Also with some of the setup sheets i am a bit confused, cause i looked at a couple Marc Rheinard did and for the diff it says direct. I am assuming that this means spool diff, am i correct?

I have found a photo of the track i will be running at if it helps.

regards

robert

could you use a 1 way outdoors or is it better to run the spool.

for 540 silvercan a oneway would be fine.

for me personally, with front oneway you will get higher cornering speed. IMHO it will really help if you run 540 silvercan. spool are easier to drive especially with the modified brushless motors. however oneway requires a smoother acceleration.

yes you're right, direct = spool

if i were you, with 540 silvercan and if the track has fairly good grip. i'd opt for front oneway.

but that's just my personal preference

if you're not on a tight budget, getting it will be a good investment IMHO

On a big track, ive used a centre one way with 2 diff's with a 27t motor and I really liked it

It is a bit more subtle than the front one way too, so you have a little more braking. not by much but it can help sometimes.

Just another thing to consider trying....

i will have to try that as well. it sounds like i will have to spend a few days at the track testing different diffs. Also with this http://www.thard.co.uk/415/setups/CLewis415Reedy06.jpg setup sheet it says that the front axle is 4 degs what does this mean?

Not to hijack the thread, but how do you think that set up would work for VTA indoor carpet? I've been tempted to try it out.

My driving style just doesn't seem to work with one ways.
