need help gearing tto1 with 8.5 brushless
i have a tamiya tto1 and im gonna get a 8.5t motr, but i dont know what to gear it with. i dont want to over gear but i want the best it coould get.what should i gear?

For a typical 8.5t motor, you want to gear it between 6.5 to 7.0.
So from looking at the gearing chart, you can use 58 spur + 22/23 pinion.
However, make sure you have use the optional metal motor mount and some type of heat sink on the motor. Otherwise, the motor may melt the plastic mount and also damage the plastic spur gear.

.is there such thing as a steel spur for the tto1

sorry, no such thing as steel spur for tt01. the normal plastic gear is strong enough for normal usage.
The TT01 is designed to be an entry level car... so it is only good up to a certain point. If you are serious or want more speed, control and setup options on the car, you will need to get a more advanced car such as the TA05/416 or xray t2/t3 etc...
having said that, the tt01 is a fun car to bash around since the parts are very cheap.

When you say you want the.. 'best' gearing, do you mean the highest top speed? I run a 22/61 gearing on my tt01 with an 8.5t brushless, but it doesn't QUITE get up to the maximum safe operating temperature, so maybe you could try 22/58 or something along those lines, depending on your climate..

For optimum performance I'd gear to 160 degrees fahrenheit..
