Default tekin vs lrp

Hey all

What is better for racing the tekin rs/rs pro or lrp spx brushless bullet.
I just want you opinion and thoughts on both of these speed controllers. I want to get one but the manuals are vague on there actual features.

Regards

Robert

i'm going to say the esc's are equal in performance but there are differences.

spx is buy it and run it (onboard programming)

rs/rs pro buy it, buy hot wire, buy computer, download software updates, then run it. (sure you don't need to do all this to get the car running but to stay competitive you probably will).

another thing to keep in mind, with the spx you'll be buying the hot new lrp esc every release date (sxx stock spec is coming soon), with the tekin you'll just download the new software for free (until they make a new esc).

but you want the SPX stock spec not the SPX bullet reverse . . . .

i am a SPX user and i love them , BUT at the moment i want to upgrade , and i have to buy a new one

i will move to either GM or Tekin next as i can just update using a USB wire

For me Tekin.
The speed is on a large track higher.
Small tracks about the same.
Tekin comes with new software and will go faster.
If you get a LRP, wait till the new one. You can't update it.

The SPX is better for 2cells and the tekin RS pro is better for 1 cell racing.

Tekin has crappy brakes and feels soft in the low throttle. If they can't get the software right after 2 years, then they may never. LRP all the way.

I have had the SPX Stock Comp and Tekin RS (RS currently), and I like the RS better ONLY because there are Tekin drivers at my tracks who set it up for me, then I do small changes as I need to. If it wasn't for them I would have wanted to get an SPX again just because they are preset settings the work great.

Hotwire will cost you about $37, with free upgrades after purchase. LRP will cost you around $300 for every upgrade. I'n not trying to talk bad about LRP, because they do make some of the best ESCs in the business. But buying their ESCs with updated fixes is hard on the wallet. And I would if I had the money, but tekin is just more economical. You also get good customer service with any of your problems.

But whatever LRP is doing, it feels way more natural, and is well worth what they're asking. I hope LRP comes out with software updates, but as long as they can keep making ESC's that don't ignore the first 90% of the power band, they'll get my money every time.

Hahaha. To funny.

The spx came out at the beginning of this year and is still ahead of tekin. I think the only reason there's a new speedo out is to upgrade it to the sxx size/specs. With the sphere and sphere tc they were the same for a few years.

Thank you.
I thought you were unhappy with the brakes only.
I asked because I had the same brake problem at first but it turned out I had to calibrate the radio to the speedy and then I had the brake power I was used to when running brushed. I race 21.5 though, not sure if that may be a factor.
