Default NEW MyLaps Transponder

Saturday MyLaps tested some new Personal Transponders on the Mach Heemstede Indoor Track (where the EK Stock 2009 was held). Some drivers got the new Personal Transponder to test it that day. I’ve made some pic’s placed in my car. This is still a prototype. The Transponder will be released within two weeks.

Spec’s:
New MYLAPS RC Transponder
Size: (WxLxH, mm) 16x9x6
Weight: (g) 4,0
Weight with holder (g) 4,7
Operating Voltage (V) 2,8 – 16,0*
Power Consumption (mA)** 19
Wiring isolation PTFE Teflon***
Wiring length (cm)
Colors Red / black
LED Green / Red
Quick change holder Yes
* Works on one cell lipo.
**Measured at 6,0 volt (receiver output)
*** Gasoline / Nitro-methane resistant, no aging

But can the wires be easily replaced? That is what is really needed for an update (my opinion).
What is the cost in USD?

I do hope AMB take this opportunity to drop the price on the transponder... I remember when they first came out, they could be bought at £35 in the UK. Now they are over £100 in the UK. Exchange rate changes do not explain this!

It's probably the only piece of RC that has increased in cost. No wonder MRT do such a good trade in clones.

more importantly... with these new transponders work on all the current timing and scoring hardware and software.

and price? looking to pick up my first transponder soon and i'd rather buy new but they can be rather pricey..

Hi Robert,

Can we assume you ran this at a track with an existing AMBrc or rc3 system... alongside racers with original PT's?

I like the fact that the "ears" are a separate piece...

I hate that I had to cut the ears off my transponder (for my RC Motorcycle), only to need them for another car (CRC Gen X, and Slash)....
