$90 plus shipping unless you do a 3 or 6 pack, then they're a bit cheaper.

So going by past experience, they should be about $150 in the next couple years?

Something like that, which is why I'll be picking up some more PT's this summer. Only piece of RC gear that will actually resell for your original purchase price after a few years.

I've contacted them, they don't care. I would cancel the order but most of the transponders I ordered are for others.

It is really is amazing how much of a grip AMB has.
or8ital ordered something around 3 months ago and nothing. Most people with different RC parts would ask for thier money back. But as everybody knows AMB will jack up the price soon so you have to wait it out.

Just for fun can anybody think of anything that you have to pay for 3 months in advance? Maybe a Ferrari? Magazines?

Maybe it just a big scam, where there inst any new transponder. But they say there is,at a cheaper price than the old one, so they get the money first to develope a new transponder,3+months later "New Transponder". The "New Transponder" has features that nobody can access now because everybody has the old system that isnt set up for it,so they could use the old transponder in the new case for timeing "Look it works". OK everybody send money,AMB has alot of cash now making intrest in the bank for a few months while everybody waits while AMB figures out how to make a "New Transponder" then poof 3+ months later look new transponder.

Its not a bad idea, everybody could send $500 to thier favorite RC company with a nice note.

Dear Yokomo
Here is $500 so you can develope an new touring car for next year. I hope this down payment will really get you going in the right direction.Whenever you design, test and manufactor this new chassis please foward it to me.
Thank you
RC Manic

This could work for all sorts of things, brushless systems,Transmitters, tires, wheels, bodies.

Think of how many people want a AMC body for VTA. Send $25 dollars to Proto-Form so old Dale will make a Javalin. Whats a basic body mold cost something around $5000. 200 People sending in $25 might get the gears turning.
It could be a whole Jerry Lewis tele-thon for RC parts that people want.

Thats a really long rant but if people are willing to wait for a transponder, why not other items.

I will buy a new AMB Transponder, because they work great. Just waiting for news before sending money.

I agree, the word vaporware comes to mind. I believe they are using the new transponder in Europe so I don't necessarily think collecting the money early is to develop the product. But it may have been collected early to purchase the machines necessary to produce it in bulk.

Either way, RIDICULOUS!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't seriously considering bringing it up with the BBB. Mostly because they don't seem to understand that what they're doing is wrong.

I really love how they took the time to update the website to say that orders placed before March 17 will be shipped by the end of April and to up the price .

I'm in Australia and ordered late Janurary and received on Friday, Have not used yet but must say they look small. I did send numerous emails and on the last one mentioned that I had a few large race meets coming up and that if it hadn't arrived I would need to purchase something else. It came with a courier and not the postman.

I really can not fathom how they think this is okay. Wish i knew what to do about it, except keep nagging them.

This wouldn't bother me at all if they hadn't taken my money without shipping anything. Seems to me they should be paying me interest.
