So any test reports anyone? How does it perform with stock motors? How does it compare to SPX and RS Pro's?

After all this screwing around, I might have a bad servo. I ran a separate BEC and receiver battery and the problem went away. The Castle people said this speed control has a brute of a BEC, and suggested trying a different servo. BEC is constructed in a way it either works, or it doesn't.

I plugged in an old scab Hitec 5925 servo and tried to stall it out. I used pliers and sawed back and forth on the servo stem and the thing never kicked out. The servo was screaming bloody murder. I plugged the Airtronics back in, one flip of the horn and the Spectrum shut off again.

So today I am going to pick up a new servo and hope it's all better.

I'm a little shocked, that shows how manly the Tekin BEC is. I never had this problem before. I really hope I can be done with it and get back to racing.

ordered one, all those features for just $118 made me throw out my losi esc. just wonder how i should place it in my 416 car, std size servo and std size spektrum reciever.. will probably have to get a low profile servo and one of those spektrum mini recievers..

It might be the bec circuit is set at 5.5v spektrum does not like to be below 6v you can change that using your castle link. I also installed one of these for extra precaution
Spektrum Voltage Protector
Overview
Spektrum's new Voltage Protector prevents a DSMô receiver's voltage from dropping below the proper operating level in lower voltage applications such as 4-cell 1/12 carpet racers. Installation is as simple as plugging it into an open channel slot on the receiver unit.

Test report:

Just used my new mm pro yesterday in 13.5 rubber carpet touring .

Setup: 35 deg. timing in cheat mode. boost at default setting, novak ballistic @ 0 deg. timing.

bottom line: the car was sick fast. i realize now why ROAR went with 13.5 for super stock. The timing advance the new speedos have make these motors scream.

The fan never turned on after 8 minutes. Motor did hit 170 though.

Both MM pros at the track appeared to be the fastest cars on the track out of 12 cars. Both used 35 deg. timing; boost settings were different.

Great job again Castle!

How do you know the fan never turned on after 8 minutes?

I tested my MAMBA MAX PRO with Novak Balistic 13.5 COMBO. Man this ESC is a monster the instant rip off the corner is crazy not to mention I'm only running a 25C Lipo. Two of us on the track with the same combo man it blows the competition away a lot of guys is running Tekin RS and LRP SPX....
And we got ours on mild setup.....

Here's my setup:

ESC profile = Cheat Mode
ESC = Castle Creation Mamba max pro
ESC Timing = @ 35 degree
Punch Control = Disabled (Max Rip)
RPM = 10,000 - 12,000
Motor = Novak Balistic 13.5
Motor Timing = +1 Notch toward positive side (35 degree)
Chassis = Schumacher MI3 with Exotek chassis
FDR = 4.2
ESC/Motor Temp = after 5 minutes race @ 150 - 155 degree F

I can do a lot more but my setup sucks last race so my car is loose, I can't really put the power on the ground, So I kept my ESC/Motor to mild drivable setup. But now I got the power and my car going fast again I can now concentrate on chassis setup.

So can the fan and cover be removed from the MMP without cutting anything? Temped to try this esc in 17.5/1S 1/12th, but it won't fit under the body with the fan on it.

You can unplug the fan, then you pop it off. It looks and feels like your gonna break it, but you won't. I took mine off for VTA, it's on there real good, but it'll come off.

Thats awesome. Now when on earth is my Castle Link gonna be shipped to me. More than a week without any news nor reply to my email sent to them. Its time their customer service can 'dynamically' advance their timing too.
