I just bought another MMP this weekend to replace the Speed Passion that I had in my 21.5 VTA car and was having the same problem. I think the problem is this, The Novak Ballistic motors are shipped with 30 degrees of mechanical timing. When the endbell is at the neutral mark it is already at 30 degrees. When setting the MMP to 50 degrees in C.H.E.A.T. mode you are in essence trying to pull 80 degrees of timing. Which I assume would cause almost somewhat of a electrical misfire. With that said I backed the motor down to 5 degrees on the endbell But I am still only able to go about 30 degrees on the MMP before this stuttering problem occurs. In a perfect world one would think that 35 degrees of timing would be all you need. But when 4 other guys at your track are running 50 in a spec class it makes it kinda hard to keep up on the straights.

At this point Im thinking the MMP and Ballistic motor are not a good combo. Im going to try putting my old 17.5 ss motor in to see if I have the same issues. I will let you know the results as soon I do. If you have anymore feedback for me it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Davin
HAHA poor thing cant keep up with my Stock Novak Havock speed control, just wait till i get my tekin in.............

The only thing i'll hold back a bit on, is the motor timing on my Novak 10.5ss, so I don't detonate it straight away!
Someone on here already has run this combo and it is very fast.

The Speed passion 3.0 I think i'll get for the 13.5 class, as I hear nothing but praise with this motor.

Moontrap, do you run indoors? - Do you run up against Tekin RS, LRP SXX stock etc? - How is it comparing?

I run outdoors, on a small - medium track. I havent run against any SXX SS yet, but i have ran against Tekin v203 and i have found the Mamba to have a tick more bottom end than the Tekin , but they are pretty similar on top end. The Tekin is the only thing that i have seen hang with the Mamba at my track.

Guess what? - Poxy work wont let me have the time off tonight! - So I cannot go. However, thanks for letting me know about the laptop situation. Appreciated. Tell Vince to stop showing off the power, he probably overdone the capabilities of that esc! If he didn't, then its yet another case of a product that hasn't been designed right from the off!

The SXX stock esc idea has long gone from my mind. The thing has too many faults. I'm buying this Mamba Max Pro for definate. I am already part of the team, if you'll let me in lol!

I will have one at the track next week. I have to be at a funeral on Sunday, so Carpet Wars is out too.

Next week i'm back!

I thought the start rpm range around 4000 would've been too low for outdoors, but you've just proven that its not! - If the Mamba can have even slightly more bottom end than the Tekin it must be brutal!

Start playing with the throttle curve and set it toward positive to gain more bottom end

Its not a big outdoor track, laptimes in the 11's for 13.5. I found if i went higher on the start rpm, then timing kicked in much later on the straight, Best is to experiment what works best on your track, and have fun beating the rest

And Jochim is right, that throttle curve is your friend

Default touring car set up

I recently purchased a mmp and need help. The car is a tc4, foams, 4.2 final drive, 13.5 motor. The track is oval with 50' straights. Need help on setting the mmp for this track with high traction. Thank You.

well its hard to know as i ran indoors and i never run indoors.
I will hopefully be running the mmp and x.12 on tarmac in the next couple of weeks so I will let you know. but its quick. the MMP for me is like a switch at the mo, either on or off. so I need to tune the settings to calm it down a bit.
