Normally, you would want to run the timing change over a fairly large RPM range, to take advantage of better torque (with lower timing) on the bottom end, and the higher torque of high RPM at the top-end.

Hey I just got the MMP can you give an example of the RPM range for small, medium and large track. Just your best guess I know every track is different.
Thanks

I use higher timing on 17.5 and 13.5 Mostly at 40 degree of timing to get the advantage of extra horsepower at higher peak RPM (it gives your motor to produce more watts) Watts = horsepower when the timing kicks in. adding Timing only work best on the high speed section of track. Like what pdelcast stated you loose torque with the timing set higher that's where the RPM parameter is use. You set it when you want the timing to kick.

Like in real car advancing the timing gives you extra horsepower at peak RPM.

Guys, do you know if the 1 Cell version come with a fan? I know the Castle Creations website says no, but a lot of people that actually have them did get a fan with it.

Can anyone please confirm?

Thanks.

There taking the two cell Mamba Max Pro ESC and removing the fan and BEC chip (which is just a small voltage regulator chip).

BINGO - its now a one cell ESC.
Also, some are removing the heat sink or cutting the heat sink to save weight.

You can mount the ESC on the side to save space too.

I figured the fan is easy to remove, that is not a big deal.

Just want to know if indeed it comes with it. Want to have the versatility of the fan option with having to buy it later.

I got my MMP last week.
Installed my MMP last night.
I'm still waiting for my adaptor.

Is there a way to remove the reverse?

I was doing some testing in my basement and as soon as I use the brake, it goes in reverse.

thanks

You need to get the caslte link so you can connect your ESC to your computer via USB to access the program. Then you can adjust it to disable the reverse function.

I agree with you 100% -- they would definitely get better torque with less timing at low RPM. However, many setups spool-up so fast, they might not notice any difference...

You can program the ESC to "forward only" mode using radio programming -- it's the first setting in the ESC. Programming is outlined/explained in the manual. You don't need the Link to do radio programming.

Thanx!

I guess I should spend more time reading the manual

You can already do much more with the MMP than any LRP controller out there. The only ESC that is on par with the MMP right now is the Tekin. Castle and Tekin are both WAY ahead of the curve vrs. LRP.

That said, with the MMP, you do need to do some experimentation to get a setup that works well with a given motor -- so that you don't overheat it.

LRP isn't doing anything that you can't match and beat with CHEAT timing. Tekin has a slight advantage right now on short tracks because their timing curve is different than the Mamba Pro, but we are working on that.

Also, when the new timing curves are available, you will be able to download the new software on the MMP. You won't have to buy a whole new ESC every time we make an improvement (unlike OTHER manufacturers...)

Patrick
Any ideas on when new software is going to be available for the mmp?
