Haven't seen much in the way of 1/12 1S 17.5 setups on here, so here's mine:

The Raceway in Beaver, PA.
Track is ~80x35

GenXL
Dou2 17.5 set on 0* timing

1S edition MMP settings:

Brake amount: 80%
Punch control: 0-disabled
Drag brake: 0
Deadband: Small 0.0500
Start power: High
Motor timing: 20*
CHEAT mode settings:
Timing boost: 45*
Range: 3,800-7,700 RPM

Throttle curve was set to positive exponential.

Rollout: 2.66 (1.62" tires, 88 spur, 46 pinion)

We were running 13.5 1/12th at the track two weeks before and the best lap times were about 7.4 sec. This time, with just about everyone running Tekin esc's and me running the MMP, the best lap times were about 7.5 sec.
My motor was coming off the track about 150*

I still haven't read a good explaination of the motor timing adjustment vs the cheat mode timing boost and RPM range settings. And why doesn't the Custom range option allow any spread? If I go Custom and turn the Begin engaging at to 1900, I cant make the Fully engaged any higher than 3900. That sucks, I want to try 1900 to 7900 or something like that.

Hi, I have a couple of questions concerning the 1s capable MMP. 1. Will it work with A123 Li-ion cells?(3.3 volts) 2. Does anyone know if CC has a trade in policy? I have a MM that I could trade.(to CC) Thanks,Don

I had a similar problem. I over geared and over timed a 17.5 and overheated the speed control. The problem was that I didn't know it. The speed control has an auto shut down and will give half power and will recover after twenty minutes of cool down (yea, twenty minutes!). I called Castle and talked to Bernie and that is what he told me. Not saying that's what your problem is but ....... maybe.

any way to program the fan? Maybe to come on sooner, or stay on.

wierd i am trying the same set-up as was stated by Jochim_18. i am also running the 17.5 ballistic motor. but it would shut off and then not come on even now and it has been quite a few hours. the battery is still charged i got a total of 2 laps thru out the day. that was with 3 shut offs. i am not really happy with it so far i am wondering if there is an issue with the switch ?

Ok guys Mamba Max Pro did it again today on 4th round of our series...

Final setup:

ESC Profile: Cheat Mode
ESC Timing: 50 Degrees Crank that baby up
ESC RPM: 3400-3600 RPM
Start Power/Punch Conrtrol: Low
Motor Timing: 35 Degrees
FDR: 4.41
Motor: Novak Balistic 17.5
Motor Temp: 165-175 Degrees Fareheit
Batteries: TP 4200 40C Lipo
Chassis: Schumacher Mi3 with Exotek Chassis

Note: Only Try this setup if outdoor temp is around 45-60 Degrees.. If your temp is over to what I stated I would say you will thermal your motor....

I run my car today using 17.5 motor on 13.5 expert class man with this setup my car is a missile, I TQ using 17.5 motor then switch to 13.5 for the main to secure the win... Everyone at my track was really surprise when I told them I was running 17.5 on my heat races Co'z everyone was wondering my car got a lot faster on the main Again I lap the whole field with ease... My friend even use the new tekin firmware.. Not even close with MM PRO amd I'm running 17.5 motor

Just got my MMP running in 1/12. Works like a charm!!! I was running a Nemesis 10.5 with just about the most conservative settings in the esc profile. Left my castle link software at home so I wasnt able to adjust settings at the track.

The car could have handled a LOT more power. What would be more efficient in terms of thermal, runtime, and power?

Cranking the esc settings on the 10.5 or switching to a lower wind with the same conservative settings?

I talked with tech support today on the phone and got my issue resolved with my mmp. they are sending me out a new mmp and a pre-paid envelope to send my mmp back to them . awesome customer service the guy i talked to was actually really cool. lol anyways just got to wait for them to get back in stock and hopefully around that time they will have the portable programming card in stock and availible to the public then.

Using 13.5 and 17.5 Brushless motor with Mamba Max Pro

Note: Motor is Novak Ballistic

17.5 Motor/ESC setup:

ESC Profile = Cheat Mode
ESC Timing = 50 Degrees
RPM = 3400 - 3600 RPM
Motor Timing = 35 Degrees
Punch Control/Start Power = Low (Always set this to low if you are running outdoors aspahalt track)
FDR = 4.40 - 4.60 (This will all depends on the track size)
Track size = 120x40

Comments:

With this setup on 17.5 your motor you will run warm around 160 - 170 degrees but the efficiency of motor is better over all you have your Bottom end and Top end on the straight. I have notice on a High Turn motor they like more timing on the (ESC ONLY), Make sure If you are going to advance the timing on your motor don't go over 35 degree or you will over heat your.
motor. Also always check your motor temp after each run and gear down accordingly if temp is above 170 degress farenheit.

13.5 Motor/ESC Setup:

ESC Profile = Cheat Mode
ESC Timing = 40 Degrees
RPM = 4500 - 6400 RPM
Motor Timing = 35 Degrees
Punch Control/Start Power = Low (Always set this to low if you are running outdoors aspahalt track)
Track size = 120x40

Comments:

My setup on 13.5 and 17.5 is pretty much identical but you want less timing with higher RPM. 13.5 motor have more bottom end but lacking a top end speed on the straight. Setting your RPM higher will give you the top end you needed on the straight it feels like you have second gear As the RPM comes up the timing will kick in and walla extra horsepower on the straight.

I hope I'm helping you guys with my setup..... And another thing I have tried different Lipo batteries out on the market but ONLY THUNDERPOWER BATTERIES will supply the highest possible voltage that you need.
