Hey Alien !

I haven't seen this thread for a long time. My car finished the championship as 2nd in 13,5T blinky Quite good for an oldtimer, and now the car will go into retirement. I won't sell it because I'm very tied to it. A T3 2012 is ordered for the 10,5T Pro Stock class . However, I'm picking up another T1 for a new project - 2WD

hey guys,

recently picked up a t1 in vta trim and wanted some opinions on setup. currently it has purple springs all around which I have heard are about the hardest out there. I will be running on carpet and need some options.

How interchangeable are the xray springs with other TCs? I have several options from my TC4 that could be re-purposed. Thanks!

All springs have same internal diameter, what can be issue is lenght. T1 had longer shocks than most cars have nowdays so same applies to shocks. I have very first version of T1 and that one had shorter front springs in the front and longer in the back, I belive that next version had them the same length. With T2 008 Xray started using shorter black springs as others do.

So I belive it's your best shot to get set of old Xray coloured springs, or try to mount other car's springs from some mate at your local club, they'll might be right length. As long as you can set ride heght properly - they are good to go.

awesome guys! thanks alot.

any trouble spots i should look out for? vta can be pretty rough it seems like (although still a lot better than a rookie class off road race!) and i'd like to have some parts on hand as need be.

once again thanks alot guys! i still cant get over the craftsman ship of this and the huge leap it is over my TC4

T1 is pretty tough, I would get spare wheel axle. That's about what I broke when I had T1 FK04 years ago. Uhm if you got CF front top bumper holder - I recommend to unscrew it from front bulkheads. That's what was breaking as well, if it's plastic it should be ok, but you won't lose anything if you'll leave it free. That was improvement when they made T2.
Now I'm just time to time running very first T1 in 17.5T class, but I'm much better driver than back then so I didn't break anything in long time.

The front shock tower and the steering servo are good places to start... but I guess you will also have to think about how it affects the balance of your car...

Top of front bumper + zip ties. That's where I mounted it on mine.

I have my rx mounted above the servo and the bumper seems like its just asking for trouble. the shock tower it is then!

My stick pack adaptor brackets showed up yesterday and after some dremaling they now work with lipos. now I just need to get to the track and start turning some laps!

hmmm... i am not so sure you'll have a big issue with the bumper being an option... Will you be hitting walls wide open? the bumper
I think will offer good protection... mounting the transponder lower will keep your CG low as well...

Do you have pics of your current layout?
