for stock setup: spur / pinion * 2.125 = final ratio
for 1.77 pulley: spur / pinion * 1.77 = final ratio

Kimrough spurs. I keep 128, 120, 124(?), 116 in my box. Depending on tire diameter, they will all fit to maintain a 1"-1.2" rollout.

lee82gx, you can use RRP spurs with that pulley but you will have to tap out another hole for the bolt pattern to fit.

The center shaft that the spur fits on will locate the spur just fine. The bolts really just hold it on, they don't locate the spur. Drilling fresh holes will work fine. (Going to do this on a HPI 125 spur)

hey guys,i am jason from BMI Racing.i have had alot of requests for a stiff chassis for the xray.i have alot of thoughts on different parts for the car being that i have driven one and seen plenty of them.i do not own one.what i am asking is what would you guys like to see in a chassis that would be perfect for carpet?any input would be greatly appreciated.

Better mounting locations for the ESC and receiver. It always seams as though the "battery" slots are right where I want to put one. I haven't seen anybody run a battery outside of the stock locations. (3 per side, all the way back)
The little black bearing holder for the servo saver bellcrank gets loose, a tighter fit would be good.
The battery posts are very tight for a GP3300 pack, slightly longer with a matching battery holder strap would be cool. They don't need to be centered on the battery either, diagonal or offset to get the carbon strap away from the battery tabs for those that solder on as well.
Stiffer is always cool, though the stock chassis with stiff top deck is pretty stiff already.

To stiffen the stock chassis on the T1R you could use the stiff carbon fiber upper deck. Than drill a hole in the upper deck so you could use the center post for the stock solid upper deck. I think that's what I'm going to try for this next weekend. Sound's like it will work to me .
This doesn't have to do with stiffening the chassis, but it would be really really cool if someone made a front bulkhead that extended and screwed into the top of the front bumper. You may also need to design a new front bumper and bumper brace. But it would help prevent the chassis from breaking right infront of the bulkheads. You could also make a wide front bumper like the one RPM makes for the tc3, that might help against breaking those weak little c-hubs.
Here's another way to stiffen the car without stiffening the chassis. Would be to make all the suspension parts (c-hubs, rear uprights, steering blocks, suspension arms) out of a graphite material like the material associated uses for their graphite parts. This might also help with durability.

thanks for all the suggestions.i dont know if you guys are familiar with my work or not but i make a nitro and electric chassis for the tc3.you can check out my products at bmiracing.com
i do have some xray parts already.they are just for cosmetics though.nut much performance enhansements.i am not happy with that.i was just asked to copy the stock stuff but make it blue.i have never made any products that did not have any functional purpose until that.now its time for me to redeem myself by improving this car.the xray is an excelent car to begin with,but everything needs improvement.
when i first worked on my nitro tc3 chassis i was trying to make a more rigid,lower center of gravity,lighter chassis.not only did i do this,but it also made the car much more predictable and more durable.i would like to do the same here by using all of your input and combining it with my experience to make a strong affordable,unbeatable machine.i am thrilled that you guys are supporting me on this and you will not be disapointed.thanks again.

I like the idea of bracing the front end more. I haven't broken a chassis yet, but I've seen people do it.
Or that part can be made separate and sacreficial (spelling?). So you break an $8 part rather then a $70 part. Make the chassis end right under the front bulkhead, then bolt a separate bumper holder to the bulkhead. So that breaks, not the chassis.
