Nope... the new diode is soldered onto the positive and negative wires..

I think that is a magnetic filter.. same kind found on some computer cables. Hara used one on his Pro4 at the JMRCA race.

stik,
Just curious how you are wired to your motor. Did you solder corally style plugs to your motor?

Another question my mod foam last night was very fast, but when I would sauce my tires the car would traction roll for the first half of the race. Otherwise the car handled great. I did notice that my ride height was very high inconjuction with new tall foams. This would most likely be the problem correct?
I did change my pinions based on the 1.77 gearing. The formula is pinion/spur x internal ratio. Say you ran a 124/31, with the 2.125's this would be a 8.5, but on the 1.77 internal would be a 7.08. This is a huge difference. To get the same 8.5 like on the 2.125 you would have to run a 124/26 combo ~8.44. So there you can see the difference.

Also, high ride height will traction roll....are you running anti-roll bars?

Hope this helps.

I ended up going down to a 22 from a 30 that I used to run. It did seem better, but I think I had my GT7 programed wrong because I had no punch at all.

I don't run roll bars, they never seemed to work for me on other cars, so didn't buy any with my Xray's. I lowered my ride height, but didn't get a chance to try it out. I probably had about 8mm and didn't notice it.

Thanks for the help. I just need to clear things up and make sure what I thought was right.

Tip for the GT7, I run programs 4-6 with 6 being the most predominant. This has the lowest drive frequency and seems to be the best for mod motors.

8mm is kinda high for ride height, I generally run 5-6mm. I have had good results with my antiroll bars. I run both front and rear and very rarely roll the car. Seems very planted on all surfaces that I run. Carpet I run 45, while outdoor asphalt I run the front at 0 or flat.

When you guys spin your low ratio tranny does it spin for awhile.

My stock tranny and low ratio spin about the same amount of time. I think my low ratio tranny is bound up somewhere, but I've taken it apart a few times and it never seems to spin longer than the stock tranny.

Would it spin longer or can you only notice the benefits on the track. I can't say I really noticed a difference in how hard it accelerates. However I put the pullies on in the summer, so I never got to test it back to back.

Belt Problems

Hi! Im running the 1.77 system. My problem is when I put in a smaller pinion gear, the belts especially the rear one touches the motor. Not sure that this should be avoided or not. I'm running 128/27 with final ratio = 8.39, I need to go down to around 10 or even a bit more. Please help! I don't want to give up my 1.77 system. Thanks!

You need to use a bigger spur to achieve the same rollout with the new pullies

hatebreed: that's a "clip-on" ferrite magnet to reduce electrical noise. I experience occasional glitch and that thing seem to help. You can find them in eletronic or computer supplies but that one the pics is from Eagle racing which is smaller than the ones I can find from eletronic stores.

I notice that! Yet I think the biggest spur gear that I can have from the market is 128T, do you know if there is anything bigger than that? Thanks!
