Something funny!
I hope you guys don't mind this since I had a laugh:
A hip young man goes out and buys the best car on the market, a brand new
one. It is also one of the most expensive cars in the world, and it costs
him $500,000. He takes it out for a spin and stops at a red light.
An old man on a moped, looking about 100 years old, pulls up next to him.
The old man looks over at the sleek, shiny car and asks, "What kind of car
ya' got there sonny?"
The young man replies, "A Ferrari GTO. It cost half a million dollars!"
"That's a lot of money," says the old man. "Why does it cost so much?"
"Because this car can do up to 320 miles an hour!" states the young dude
proudly. The moped driver asks, "Mind if I take a look inside?"
"No problem," replies the owner. So the old man pokes his head in the window
and looks around. Then, sitting back on his moped, the old man says, "That's
a! pretty nice car, all right, but I'll stick with my moped!"
Just then the light changes, so the guy decides to show the old man just
what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds, the speedometer
reads 160 mph.
Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting
closer! He slows down to see what it could be, and suddenly,
WHHHOOOOOOSSSSSHHH! Something whips by him, going much faster!
"What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?" the young man asks
himself. He floors the accelerator and takes the Ferrari up to 250 mph.
Then, up ahead of him, he sees that it's the old man on the moped! Amazed
that a moped could pass his Ferrari, he gives it more gas and passes the
moped at 275 mph. WHOOOOOOOSHHHHH !
He's feeling pretty good until he looks in his mirror and sees the old man
gaining on him AGAIN! Astounded by the speed of this old guy, he floors the
gas pedal and takes the Ferrari all the way up to 320 mph. Not ten seconds
later, he sees the moped bearing down on him again! The Ferrari is flat out,
and there's nothing he can do.
Suddenly, the moped plows into the back of his Ferrari, demolishing the rear
end. The young man stops and jumps out, and unbelievably, the old man is
still alive. He runs up to the mangled old man and says, "Oh My gosh! Is
there anything I can do for you?"
The old man whispers with a feeble breath,
"Unhook.........my........suspenders
from...............your................side-view
mirror.........................."

Every single time I change out my diffs or something of that sort I always strip the heads of most of the chassis screws and then have to drill them out. XRay is very big about how high quality their kits are and whatnot, and I agree with that for the most part, however the quality of these absolutely crappy screws they include is absolutely absurd, it's like tin foil.
Are there screws of the same size and shape as the recessed chassis screws but made of a different and much stronger material? If so, where can I buy them?
Thanks

RBLOVE?
I would be very interested to see your setup for the evo2 on carpet. I have been running the raycer on carpet and started with your setup.....I have set personal bests so I want to go back to the EVO2 and see what I can do with that now. Thanks

Jonesr,
I haven't built the car yet. I think I have my set up from Cleveland last year. It was awesome. Let me think about it for a sec...

Jonesr.
This is from the top of my head. I am at work and cannot access my info at home. This is the set up I used at Cleveland. Almost put me in the A. Missed it by a second….
Front:
0 kick up
6 degrees caster block
NO SWAY BAR
50 weight Losi oil in shocks
2 holes open
lowered shock tower in second hole from outside
camber link in stock position
stock Ackerman setting
droop (1mm up travel)
-1 ½ camber
Jaco purple/orange
Rear:
Arms in lower hole on bulkheads
1 degree of rear toe
stock wheel base
droop (2mm up travel)
-1 ½ camber
camber link (outside on hub and roll center bridge on inside)
50 weight Losi oil
2 holes open
stock position on tower (in to the 3rd hole)
middle on arm
Jaco purple
I ran super stiff springs. At one point I was running red-38 in front and magenta-33 in rear. I also ran the magenta-33 up front with the purple-28 in rear. I ran the car as stiff as I could to get it to be extremely responsive, but be careful you are not lifting the inside tires in the corners. Sometimes too stiff is not good. Reacts excellent, but can cause traction roll. You gotta find the happy medium.
If you are running the 1.77 pullies try to find a 128 (64p) spur. Gets the motor down as far as possible.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Finally!
Finally made the switch to the EVO2. Just looking for some info and pics on how you are mounting your electronics and batteries. I have mine setup for 6 cells along oneside and am curious as to how you are mounting and where you are mounting everything. Also with the FOC, it came with a composite transponder mount, curious to as if you are using it and if so where are you mounting it at on the chassis.
The car is by far the easiest I have ever built and the drivetrain is something else. It took me months to get my FTTC3 to be this close.
Any and all setup info for carpet is also greatly appreciated. This car will only be ran on carpet, with rubber and foam tires.
Thanks,

Happy you love the car Crash. Curious, why did you opt with the six cells on one side?

I was thinking the same thing,I think alot of racers dont like saddle packs but I think that the XRay handles alot better with saddle packs especially in transitions,But if you can make your car work for you I guess it does not matter where you put your batteries, but I allways take the easy way..
