Default Sway bar

ROb,

I got the sway bar sorted before start of race day!! Thanks to Shiloh poiting me in the right direction. I starte day wit sway bar flat and got it to about 30 degrees. I can esily see me running it at 45 degrees now. Not much loss of steering, but carries more speed. I just turned up my dual rate abut 5% after installing it for the slow-tighter corners.I'll send yu my set-up today. Its pretty basic. But the top three Tc3 were really, really fast!!! It was Buran, Rice and Herrmann. Herrmann's car was the best-but he crahsed every three laps and STILL outqualified me by 5 seconds!!!

Junior ran his T1R tonight and was flying. He was as fast, if not faster, with the T1R than he was with his EVO2. Did say the composite c-hubs were brittle. He went to the aluminum c-hubs and was dialed and car was much more precise. He also said the car seems to accelerate harder. Weird as the drivetrains are the same, but it was ripping...... Sounds like this cheapie is going to be a killer. Starting mine tomorrow evening and can give full report Sunday after racing.........

I will start out with aluminum 6 degree caster blocks, composite steering hubs, and aluminum rear hubs as well as the blade sway bar at 45 degr....

Rob,

Between Tony, Eric and I we have broken I think 6 Medium Composite C-hubs in only two race weekends. I broke one in a not hard hit and put my aluminum ones right back on!!! If any of you know someone at Serpent USA or XRay-Please let them know.

Its not like they break after numerous hits or devastating crashes
too. ONe hit and snap!!

I am worried as I need to go to the 6-degree C-hubs too and I only have them in composite!!

BTW_Does anybody have a set of alum. 6-degree C-hubs they'll sell me at a not too expensive price???

Default T1R chassis

Rob, I am hearing that the R chassis is actually more flexible....doesn't seem possible but can you comment? Also is there a weight difference?

I am going to be a little ticked if the R was the way to go when I bought the car a couple of weeks ago. I guess it will be cheaper to go to the composit than it would be to go from composit to graphite.

Joneser-youd still be using your shock towers, upper braces from your evo2 so its not that bad getting the evo2 first-really.

Time will tell!! My fingers on the order button for a T1R chassis right now!!! Heck its only like $27 or somthing like that!!!

Hi everybody.
First time on this forum so play nice.

Right then. Last meeting at my local club I ran my X-ray Evo 2 for the first time. And we race on carpet and this is the set up that I ran.

White springs all round
30w shock oil all round.
1.5 deg camber all round
1 deg toe in on the front
2 deg toe in on the rear
PIVOT BALL SUSPENSION
ONE WAY DIFF.

And I was suffering from oversteer.

Now this other guy was running exactly the same set up but without the one way. And his car seemed to be hooked up pretty well but it wasn't cornering as fast as my car because I was running the one way diff.

Should I, take the one way off.
Or should I put the composite c-hubs on and leave the one way off.

Thanks in advance.

Jonny

Jonathan,

Increase your front droop and mount the adjustable front anti-roll bars. It'll help with your steering. Good luck.

Start off with soft, but depending on your track and steering problem, I would go 10 to 15 degrees increment. Hope this helps.

Hope the new front sway bars come out soon...it would make life easier than trying to figure out how many degrees to make the adjustments....

Jimmy...save me a set along with 1.5 and 1.0 mm bars when / if you get some in.

jonathan123: Are you running rubber or foam tires on carpet? For foams on carpet, I would use heavier springs. For example, violet or purple instead of white.

For the blade sway bar setting, I like to set mine as hard (vertical) as possible without causing understeer. That makes the car feel very stable. If it is understeering, I set it softer (horizontal). I usually run between 45 and 60 degrees with mine.
