Hmm...interesting. I just built an XRay this week and raced it on Saturday. Our track has been a rubber tire track but just recently switched to foam. I've been a factory driver for Yokomo for a couple of years now but some things are on hold so I'm getting to play. I built and ran the TC3. Its fast, fragile, and likes to tweak. I also built a XXX-s. Another all around good car. Has issues with roll center and messed up shock design. Its a fast car but the belt tracking and belt material limits its ability to be real efficient if you run stock.
I then tried the X-Ray. I missed the first two rounds of qualifying because I was finishing the car up. I couldn't believe how good this car drove. I ended up winning the A-main with it on my 2nd battery pack through it. I thought the car was incredible on foams. You may want to lower your ride height a bit and lose the swaybars. I couldn't believe how flat the car drives without sways in it. Also, stand the rear shocks all the way up and use stiffer springs, those all should help give you faster cornering speed.
If you are interested in selling your X-ray with all of its extrax, send me an email at email@example.com
. Some guys at my track want em and we need some spares too..Thanks
