Update! Belts are on their way that are closer to stock tensioner size. However, I may have to still make a custom tensioner because they are around 6mm different as far as overall length goes. I'll take pictures when they arrive and I get one on. Had to minimum order 10... so if they work easily, I'll be able to put 8 in people's hands almost immediately. We're oh so close. I could get exact size HD 259 tooth belts made, but it would cost me around 2k in tooling and I don't want to pass that much cost onto you guys. I'll keep you guys updated!

Btw... it sounds like if these belts I have on the way fit with the stock tensioner, we'll have enough for everyone in as soon as 2 weeks. Cost is looking to be 25 for belt shipped in the US. How does that price sound to you guys? I might be able to go a little lower but not a whole lot. International will just be determined on where people are at.

I think I'll throw a brushless setup in the car I bought just to confirm they can take it. Never had problems with the ones I did on the Street Weapon but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Stay tuned guys.

Hours of looking for XXX-S belts and I find this awesome thread. Just stumbled on it too.

I run Rally with a big group here in Colorado and I just snapped my last belt yesterday Thought my car was going to be a paper weight.

I'll take 2 after you check them out Josh. And I sent you a PM not knowing about this thread, kept looking and reading this wonderful news!

Well guys... we're THIS close. Due to the kevlar being in the belt, it doesn't have any stretch to it. As such, it could use another tooth or two to use the factory tensioner. I think I may be making a custom tensioner.

What do you guys think? Would sure beat no belt, right? Same number of teeth as the stock belt but because it lacks stretch, it either needs more teeth or a different tensioner. Making a tensioner bracket that is revised is cheap. Thoughts?

First what tensioner are you using and with which idler pulley? The tensioner that comes with the black belt kit is longer than the stock one and also uses a larger dia idler pulley than the stock one uses. So you do have options to use another tensioner or another pulley depending on which one you are using in your car now to maybe get this to work.

It is just the stock tensioner. Was considering trying the longer one but I don't have one. Maybe I'll get one ordered. We'll see. I take it you guys would rather keep a stock tensioner even if it's the extended belt one?

You can also drill a new hole in your stock tensioner to move the idler pulley close to the spur gear. The tensioner that comes with the Black belt kit has 2 sets of holes for this very reason so you can move the pulley closer if using the stock shorter belt. There might be enough room to drill and tap a new hole on the stock tensioner instead of making a whole new one.

I may have to try that. This one only has one hole. I'm afraid if I put the pulley closer to the center, it'll hit the gear. We'll see.
