fix bl motor

I have a 9t hobbywing bl motor that split the magnet the other day. It has been very good so far an has lasted a long time so i dont wanna hear any haters out there knockin it, but I was just wonderin if I can replace the rotor? I saw there were some on Tower. What do I need to measure to match it up. Plus what would cause the magnet to split like that? Just bein a cheaper product? Thanks for any responses.

Many things could cause a magnet to split. Did it crack in half, or was there a glue line from MFG? I would think that it would be a break based on the context you asked in. There are 3 things that I can think of; 1. over revving, especially with the wheels free-wheeling (no load). 2. mechanical shock. 3. fatigue. 4. mfg. defect, although since you have been running this for a while, that is less likely the case.

You could e-mail or call the manufacturer or distributor for the product in your country and ask if there is a replacement part number you can order.

I shot em an e mail about replacing it and no response yet. I was racing my Slash with a buddy on a parking lot mostly of dirt and gravel. It pretty much split in half, I glued the two pieces together but there was a spot where it would catch and not turn. The copper wiring inside the can is smooth so maybe I'll try glueing the halves again and try my luck. The first time they were glued I did get a few revolutions but at full power it split again.
