What I don't understand is why does everyone say it's a bumpy track? I didn't really notice any bumps running 1:12 during the NEGS race.

I think what has happened is that there was word about a bump in the track and it spread as the whole track being bumpy. The Track is not bumpy!!

If you're local or regional to this Nationals and have the resources to attend you should make the effort. Who knows when the carpet nats will be back on the east coast? And most of all it's an enjoyable and great learning experience for racers.

Not cool, remember the racers at a track also reflect on that track.

Actually, I was part of the track setup crew during the 2001 Nats and the same bump on the straight and a bump on the infield was there in 2001 and no one made a big deal about it. And if recall correctly rubber tires were run on touring cars that year.

The Track has been and is run by one of the greatest supporter of RC racing of all times. Mimi has listen to the racers and done what they have asked.
Every track has its issues, I have never seen/raced/what ever on a perfect track. We all have heard complains about: drivers stand, lighting, pits, layout, boards, etc. A small bump, big deal, Apex, Billy and Arvid will have a layout for the Nats that will minimize any potential problems. Please don't let Teach or Hess design the layout... We all know what they will do..

If a racer decides not to go because they " read on the internet" that its a lousy track" then that person is missing a great event. I feel sorry for those who miss this event, its a loss they will think about the rest of their lives...

I'd give my right nut to race at the Nats... Oh wait, I used that to race at the Birds... ( Some of you know what I mean.... )

I wish I could take credit for helping organize this Nats, but really it was Spence, Vicko, Arvin, Teach, Danny J and I'm sure I missed lots of others that have helped to make The Track look like a whole new facility. I know Spence has worked with Mimi on many occassions to organize big races as well as put the bid in for the Nats. And if it weren't for Vicko, the track probably would not have the weekly crowd like it does now since he has rebuilt the race program there. Anyhow, I'm sure whatever track layout will be put down it will be dialed for the Nats.
