Thanks Robbie, I think with the new ROAR sportsman rules, a sportsman driver can run expert if the class has no sportsman? so 13.5 foam or WGT right? Not sure I will have a 1/12th scale, might run 13.5 foam again, although with the new speedos it will be crazy fast..

Is there any plans of smoothing the track some?

Thanks
1:12's work fine at The Track. There's just not alot of racers racing 1:12 there these days. As for the track being rough, new carpet was just laid down and the new CRC click-track is being used for barriers. I know at the end of the straightaway there is a dip\bump affecting cars sometimes. There was talk about fixing it, running the track counter-clockwise or possibly designing a layout that would avoid it. I haven't heard what the outcome was though. Really though, in the end we're all racing on the same track with the same conditions. It's a great track to race on with no poles in your way and a big driver's stand. There are plenty of hotels\restaurant within a couple miles as well. And the atmosphere is alot of fun with all the locals trash talking. If you've never been to The Track, I'd say this is one track that any rc racer should have on their list to visit at least once in their lifetime.

They changed what used to be open 17.5 classes (or slowest classes) to sportsman, where the driver can not be sponsored in any way, can't wear logo clothing, or have sponsor stickers on their cars. If you run in a sportsman class, you can't run in the same expert class either, like 17.5 and 13.5 rubber tire. I am pretty sure you can run expert when there is no sportsman offered, like 13.5 WGT.

5.3.3 At any single Level 5 event, a driver entering the sportsman stock class may not enter
in any other higher level of skill based class. For example: a sportsman stock may
enter the touring car and 1/12th scale of sportsman stock but not the same classes of
expert super stock or open modified. If a 2wd chassis class is only offered as expert
super stock then the sportsman racer may enter that class.

I didn't find a line about the clothing, I remember reading it in a thread, really should be brought up there though, as to not turn this thread into a ROAR debate.

Page 6 has the details. The previous NATS thread got closed after this came up last time, just realized that lets not let that happen again, there are a few roar discussion threads open if needed
