A little advice... most RC cars with cross head screws use the Japanese "JIS" pattern. It looks like Philips but it is a little different, and a philips screwdriver will wear them out prematurely.
You can tell a JIS screw because it usually has a dot on the head. Tamiya tools are the JIS pattern, my TOP tools are the JIS pattern, others may be available. Usually a #2 is what works in M3 screws. A #1 for the smaller screws. In mm equivalents, a 4mm is a decent small screwdriver, 5.8mm is a decent large screwdriver. |

Do yourself a favor and replace EVERY POSSIBLE screw you can with Hex screws... Every Tamiya kit I've bought, I would toss the junk phillips stuff they put in, and replace it with Stainless Steel Hex screws... For all nuts and bolts and general hardware, McMaster Carr is the best place to shop IMO. Their search tool is THE most intuitive one I've ever seen (besides Digi-Key)... |
