How fast do I need my steering servo to be?
Read some older threads but didn't find any decisive answers. I race nitro truggy/buggy and will be doing some electric touring car this winter. Here are the servos I have:
JR 9000S: .06 speed 128 torque
JR 9000T: .15 speed 320 torque
JR DS8611: .15 speed 320 torque
ACE 1015: .10 speed 200 torque
Hobbico CS170: .15 speed 330 torque
I realize specs are similar for most of these servos, in your experience which one centers the best and how critical is speed/torque? Our track is very small and tight. (if that helps).

For the electric touring I would go with the fastest you have as the speed with give you the best overall feeling for the car (JR 9000S: .06 speed 128 torque) and then as for the Buggy/Truggy all the servos you have listed will be fine due to the dirt being a loose surface and the speed not being as much of a factor.

A servo never turns faster than you do. The faster the servo is the more accurate it is to the input you are providing. It is similar to internet lag if your a gamer. The faster the servo the less time there is between your radio input and when the car actually does it. Torque will affect this as well because the higher torque servos will be slowed down less by the stresses of driving. This is especially true in a big vehicle like a truggy. But in your case I'd say go by reliability...use one of your JR servos...it's a much more dependable brand.
