Default new to onroad

ive been racing offroad for a few years, and recently picked up a mint condition xxxs-g from my lhs's owner for $150.it was one of his personal cars that he built and ran twice. my question is.....is this car still competitive for someone wanting to get their feet wet in onroad without dropping a fortune

Yes, still competitive. Maybe lacks the last couple of tenths per lap that the most developed current chassis have - but since driving is the most important thing, it will be a sound start in on-road.

I took the same route... started with an old G+ and rebuilt it. It is good enough for beginners like me. Won my first race with it last month on asphalt in 17.5 rookie sedan. Don't have any clue what it would be like on carpet though.
