Which one is fastest, nitro or electric 1/10 TC?
A question. Which one is fastest at the tracks, nitro or electric 1/10 TC?

Electric for sure!
With my 5.5t boosted, my car has better speed and reacts quicker (on tight corner) than a nitro one, all of this with my rubber tires VS their foamies on a fast 1:8 style asphalt track. A good electric driver will have better laptime than a good nitro driver
You can imagine how better it would handle with a 4.5t boosted
Only problem is the time on the track: with an electric car, it is only 5min whereas nitro runs 5min, then re-fuels, then re-runs and so on until they want to stop

At the Edmonton outdoor track a Mod Elec. TC will kill a nitro.
MOD 10 pan is even faster though..

The sky is the limit for electric now. I've seen rubber TC electric on 2s get clocked at 75 mph locally. Speed runs? It's all electric builds. It was one thing 10 years ago but now electric is king. Nitro is for those that love nitro, it's just a different form of racing vs. being the "fastest" as it once was.

Bottom line is take off time...like a turbo car versus a supercharged car same car same motor same chassis and same wheel tire setup.
I run all modded gasser 1/5 motors, high end professional handwound brushed motors, high end sensored brushless setups, and sometimes just a simple Hpi trash Esc with a 2s pack on a Tamiya silver can. It's all personal taste.
I still run my 2008 Revo platinum original trx 3.3 mill just upgraded cvd's that's it and steer servo proper for a monster truck pushing over 600 oz/in at 6.0V.

Thanks all for your interesting answers, I was not sure myself.

The real question is 'which turn brushless matches a .12ci fuel engine TC?'

My mod electric is faster than my nitro Tamiya TG10.
My Xray NT1 is faster than my electric Xray with 21.5T
You can't say one is faster than the other without getting more specific.

Currently mod electric tc is faster than nitro and really has been for a while. Older highend modifieds(6 turn triples etc) could run with nitro but not for long as the batteries weren't up to it and the motors didn't last. Today with brushless and lipo technology nitro just can't keep up.
