The li-po I plan to use is 1mm bigger in every dimension. It should fit right? Thanks.
Your Thunder Power pack will fit in with no issues.
If you looking for next season...I may have Kids car COMPLETE w/ Servo(jr8800) Speedo(LRP TC spec)..Just add reciver and transponder and go for $300 come dec.
ah c'mon john, hook em up now and get another racer on the track! its how we are gonna survive. yeh i can help em out with a tc spec i'm not usin (100 shipped), but help em out. there are things bout the losi that a new person should be grateful learning from a veteran.
that car is a great car and for the price an even better car. i know a couple were out at nats last wk and doing well. so they are not 'en vogue' right now, doesnt matter. good car.

John, I appreciate the offer, but I wanna get this thing on the track as soon as possible, even if I just have to run practice laps for the rest of this season.
What motor/esc combo do you recommend?

To get started a good used LRP TC Spec is good deal, Great ballance in profiles and great breaking power. If your looking for new Try Tekin RS.
I've got a tekin rs pro in my HB D4 WCE. I love it, so I'll definitely go tekin again. I've got a Express Motorsports Zipper DUO 2 17.5T brushless motor in my cart at amain.
Couple more things, and I'll leave you guys along;
What pinion/spur combo should I run at the Grove? Are these the tires the recommended earlier? Lastly, what will I need to build the kit. I'm still new so I don't have many tools, shocks oils, grease, glue, etc.
I really appreciate all the help.

Tires...Yes same tires. They do work well there.
Motor, Great choice and with tekin gear at 4.5 range
Tools, 2mm, 1.5mm, 1/16 and .050 allen keys are most common needed. The kit does come with basic allen keys needed.
Kit grease..Oils 30-35
I did forget 1 item, Flying Fox layshaft..That does allow for using any gears and makes things a ton easier also. gears I run 108 or 112 Spurs and from 44-48 pinion gears but 112-45-47 will get ya started fot The Groove.

Can I run a 112T spur and 45T - 47T pinions without the Flying Fox layshaft? It looks like a nice piece of kit, but just wanna get on the track in the next couple months, and upgrade around Christmas. How are kimbrough spurs and PRS pinions?
I added 30, 32.5, and 35 wt Losi shocks oils to my cart as well.
Lastly, what kind of nut drivers will I need.
Thanks again John.

John, where is that? I'm coming down to my daughter's for Christmas and want to check out the tracks before I move there.
It's actually the Grove. typo...
It's in Rock Hill, SC. About 25 miles/30 minutes from downtown Charlotte. Here's their website. You should also check out Carolina's R/C Forum. Tons of info. on tracks around the southeast.

The popular car at our track is the tc5. It is similar to your tracck's setup. I run Jacos, aggressive ride hieght (front 1mm lower than the rear) differential up front, softer springs in the front than the rear and 27t and 17.5 motors...

Thanks, the Grove looks very interesting, oval and on road

You cannot run anything below a 118 I believe without the PRS adapter which is basically the same thing but without the shaft. If this shaft was available when I got my type R I would have got it instead of just the adapter.
