XRAY T3
#1066
Having made my T3 I have noticed that a couple of the upper pivot balls are a bit stiff.
Although not solid or anything if held on a hex driver by the upper ball the shock doesn't fall to the bottom under it's own weight as it should.
Anyone have any idea's on how to rectify this?

After the grooves have been removed with the sandpaper, I use some polishing compound on a rag and try to get them almost mirror-like. You'll be amazed how free and consistent the pivot balls are. I do all of the pivot balls, not just the shocks. It's attention to details like this that makes the car handle consistently.

If anyone is that dissatisfied with their T3, I'll trade them my 009 EU with the lipo weights and full set of aluminum turnbuckles. With a Killer stock set-up on it. Car only has seen carpet, T3 must be similar. PM if interested.

I put a screw through them, chuck them in a Dremel, and polish them with 400 grit sandpaper to remove the machining grooves. If you run a fingernail across the ball you can feel the roughness.

They are the correct way around with the 'shoulder' on the shiny side of the pivot ball.
What's the best way of removing the pivot balls without distorting or damaging the eyelet?
Thanks

CRC and I believe IRS makes a tool to remove pivot balls for pan cars that would probably work best for that. Otherwise, I have no idea how you'd remove a pivot ball w/o destroying the eyelet.
