Actually at the IIC my car was underweight at 924 grams.

I was using SMC pack and was running my tires small...52mm rear and 51mm fronts. It also depends on the car you are running...there were other things I did. But with that said I had a lot of trouble with my car at the IIC. So my being light made no difference.

I am running 10r5 with a supra body, smc 4000, gtb 4cell, jr 3650 300mah servo pack with light light weight voltage regulator. My main issue is balance. I want to get close to weight as possible but I think balance is the most important aspect of these cars. I made a balancer out of a heli blad balance point and mounted it to some jaco greens(looks kinda cool) I have thought about putting my ESC in front of the shock in the center of the car, good or bad idea all I think is push push push when I think of that as an option.

Thanks

I also had to add lead to my 10r5 in vegas to make 930. No optional parts or al/ti screws. All steel. Sophia body, rs esc, 9650 servo, Spektrum micro, speedpassion 13.5, mrt PT. It only took about 14-21 grams to make balance, and another 14 grams to make weight. SMC 4900 with bullet connectors and 16g wire all around.

balance and setup is far more important than shaving the extra couple ounces, though it would be nice..

All the profiles do on the GTB is to control Punch by limiting how quickly it ramps up to 100% throttle. The GTB does not adjust the timing like other speedo's, so adjusting the GTB Profiles will not have much impact on the car.

How much paint is on the body? Also, how much wire for the speedo/motor and what gauge? The tires make a difference as well. I think you are running a GTB? The GTB is a fairly heavy speedo and it has that huge cap. I dropped quite a bit of weight when I went to lighter electronics. Having said that, with a 1 cell set-up you might be able to lose the fan and heat sink off the GTB.

as far as balance: I am far, far from one of the experts, but if you are going to be fast you have to be balanced and at the minimum weight.

it also wouldnt hurt to ditch the receiver pack AND voltage regulator, and go with a voltage booster instead. They are tiny and weight almost nothing.
