bearings bearings bearings!

Hey everyone, i poked around a bit and read about different companies offering bearings, WELL. i own a corally rdx phi and i few places did not offer all of the ball bearings for it so i did include those.

the two i have narrowed it down to so far are ACER bearings and AVID bearings. acer offered a kit for the bearings which seemed nice, though they were twice the price to get the same (mostly) from avid. which would you choose? im looking for longevity out of my bearings. something i can not worry about breaking down on me, maybe cleaning them once a month or something.

and my last question is what kind are the best? im guessing that ceramics are the smoothest there are out there, and both companies offered similar things. i could use some input on this too.

now this is where you help me out, or keep on rolling! (haha get it?)

There are two schools of thought.

1. Use high quality bearings and clean and lube them regularly.

2. Use the cheapest bearing you can find and replace them constantly.

I tend to go with 1 for indoor carpet and 2 for outdoors.

i will be primarily racing outdoors, is 1$ a bearing "cheap"? i hope so

Yeah, that's about as cheap as they get.

If you want quality ceramics go to kanzen bearings. They'll put a bearing kit together for any car just need you to tell them what car you have. For the quality you get they are quite reasonably priced. You will need to take care of the bearings quite often when running outdoors at any rate.

A cheaper option is as suggested above (buy cheap, change often).

I got the bearings for my Mini from Bocabearings.com.

99 cents each, got 18 bearings for $17.82 shipped.

I heard the bearings will be ok, they feel nice and if I need more, they got here in a couple days.

That's a deal in my book
