Hey guys! I'm looking for some advice on setting up my TC4 for VTA. I'm running at a track where one-ways are illegal for VTA and I want to know if I should run a front spool or a standard diff.

The track is a pretty technical indoor carpet track with a several sharp turns.

So, spool or diff in front, and if a diff, how lose or tight?

tight diff would be my recommendation.

I also run a TC4 in VTA. I'm not experienced with a spool but a tight front diff can make a big difference.

Hi, I actually just picked up a tc4 for vta I'm not trying to jack your thread but wanted to know some tips for set up. Maybe some weight springs to start out with. Maybe the gear mesh what size spur/pinion with the 21.5 lipo setup. Maybe any other pointers I would greatly appreciate it.

Well, for my track I run a 60T (48P) spur and atm I think I have a 32T or 33T pinion on. However, your gearing should be based on your specific track and different ESCs allow for slightly different gearing too. I'd say go with around 4.5 or 4.6 FDR for starters, and adjust up or down from there. Gearchart.com is a great help for figuring your FDR. For springs, I like blue front and green rears with 30weight oil in mine (indoor carpet). I also have both my front and rear shocks leaning in pretty good (inner most or next closest for the shock tower hole and outer hole on the suspension arm). Rear diff is set pretty loose, and front set medium. I haven't really messed with spools, and one-ways aren't allowed here either.
