Questions?? 17.5 Rules

Ok I got a question about this 17.5 stuff.

So you place in the top 5 at a big race over the last 5 years and you can't race stock/17.5. What about placing in the top 5 at the NEGS (overall)? At what point do thoose racers need to "step up" or be "forced" to race in the Pro class?

If the racers is dominant we will move him up. So far last year no one guy dominated any 17.5 class. Also most of our 17.5 guys that did well in the series did not do well at any of the big races that they went to.

Once we build a better base of new racers it will be easier to move races into the pro classes. At the rate racing is going now in 4 years everyone in the NEGS will be a pro since there are no new guys coming into it.

Great! I unfortunately won't be there Sunday. I will be watching the Bengals lose to the Bears but I will be there all day Saturday for practice.

I see, makes sense now. Looking at all this, maybe the big races should look at the NEGS on how to set up their stock/17.5 classes...

It is out of pocket. There's a decided difference between having a discount and being a factory racer, especially when it comes down to last lap heroics that end in wrecks. I always question racers who "need" results to justify their sponsorship. Whereas with people like Denny, I never question inconsistent driving, it's just part of learning and moving up through the ranks.

I could all but guarantee that if you add punctuation to Denny's posts, none of this would have happened. He comes across all wrong on the internet.

Is that what it is!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to remember that next time the spec tire thing comes up and I want to comment on it. Until then I will just watch someone else take a beating on Tech and enjoy knowing that its not me.

It's been a 20 year work in progress and thankfully the margin continues to shrink. Lately I've been close enough to see their tail lights and to sniff their exhaust. That does seem to be the fun of it. I don't feel the need to stand on top of the podium, but I do love the challenge of trying to stand on the end of the front porch alongside the big dogs.
Major +1. That is why we call you the "Godfather" of 1/12 scale. You are a true gentleman racer and proud to know you. Now, please try and get some practice before the Halloween Classic.
