Hitec servos any good?
Hey guys, in the market for a good servo for once. lol I was checking out the Hitec HS-7940TH Ti gears, digital high speed servo. I've been wanting a good one for years and I wondered what folks think of Hitec? I will be racing a Xray 008.

are 'they' beating you with it? if so, is it due to better equipment or pure driving skill?
A well set-up car WILL most likely be easier to drive.......

they must have gotten better at centering up than they used to......
or are they just offsetting the cost of employee health care?
how does that compare to a comparable JR,Fut,Sanwa etc. top end servo $ ?

My HB7966 Coreless Servo from Hitec is just awsome, ive had it a year now, very fast, very realiable (touches wood).
Spec are something like 0.008 secs to 60 degree of turn, with plenty of torque, i actually borrowed a futaba 9550 before hand to try and my hitec felt smoother.....

I was looking at the Hitech servo's for running my 733 Serpent. I had run the top end hitech servo's in other onroad cars and they were "alright". I ended up going with the JRZ9100S Digital Ultra Speed. Night and day, super fast with plenty of power. $139 at kamikaze

We've run HiTec servos forever with little to no problems. Everything from super high torque 333 in oz to super fast 0.08 transit time. I would have to say for the value they are great and their customer service cant be beat.

I just want a good servo but...
what is considered a quality brand of servo then? KO? Are there any other high quality brand names? One with titanium gears? My old KO weights a ton. I'm looking for a low profile, fast, high torque, digital, light servo with high quality.

to quote someone from petitrc i'll just say : "keeping away fron hitec is a guarantee of success". the centering is probably the worst problem i met with ALL my hitec servos
my favourite by decreasing order : KO,futaba,sanwa/airtronics

What model is good for touring?
What's the best of KO and Futaba?

Well, sucks to hear that Hitec don't center well.
I have a KO, but I really wanted to try something different. The titanium gears make sense for weight reduction.

I have the Sanwa SDX801 low profile and I really like it. I m going to order another one but don't mind trying the Orion, where can I get 'em?
