Default Pro 10: 235mm Le Mans Prototype Pan Car Discussion

There seems to be a great confusion over 10th scale pan cars. There is WGT: 200mm wide, runs GT bodies, 13.5 1S motor and battery and Lilac control tires. This class is attempting to emphasize realism and driving skill over sheer speed.

The Pro 10 on the other hand has their own set of rules: low wind motors, 2S batteries (or 6 cells), are 235mm wide, run LMP bodies, any tire selection and can outrun just about anthing on the road. The domain of these beasts is outdoor asphalt. They are built to go extremely fast.

I do not own one of these, but this class needs to have their say.

I know im not confused

Pro 10's are BEAST. If I could make a lap with one of these without smashing it to bits, my life will be complete.

Yeah, Pro10's are awesome! GT10's are ok as well though, just not as good!

I remember reading something about some tracks banning them back in the day because of the speeds.
I would definitely be interested.

Really the only tracks that could run Pro10 are nitro tracks (and I think TimeZone in OR too)

We run Pro10 on a weekly basis at our track. We normally have 12-18 cars show, but we do limit the everyone to a 19T, or a 10.5Bl (2s).

The better drivers consistantly put in better laps then the nitro cars.

Out here in Europe Pro10 has risen again. Here in the Netherlands we drive them with 10.5 motors and 2s lipo which gives them very nice speeds. We do have a lot of nitro tracks here so there is space to drive. Our German neighbours are setting laptimes faster than 8th scale gas cars with modified Pro10's.

I am so very glad that I started driving this class!!! 12th scale in the winter and Pro10 in the summer months, the best combo for me!!!

out in Victoria most are CRC with the wide body ass. to make them up to 235. there are a couple of guys including myself that run old school 10l's A few corrally's and a darkside.

May I suggest a JJSPro 10 for your Pro 10 driving pleasure. See the attached pics. It is based on a CRC Gen X 10 which you supply and Staranhan-RC.com front dual A-arm suspension and rear 3-link suspension. Not the cheapest way to go but certainly will be the fastest and easiest to drive Pro-10 out there.

Advantages:
No blowovers because the front end is dampened. This is what killed the Pro 10 nats.
Increased forward traction on all surfaces. Makes driving on medium and low traction possible.
Increased steering traction and precision.
Normal four coil over shock tuning.
Handles a 3.5 on a Nitro track with ease. Benefits a 10.5 or a 200 mm car as well. The front end is not legal for World Gt at this time, unless by gentlemans agreement you make a variance at your local track.

Corally and crc are the most popular chassis with on occasional old associated and some home made projects which are based on new 200mm cars but converted to 235 mm. In germany they have the Hatzenbach and Speedline chassis which are popular there and are very good as well.

You don't have to be stupidly fast with a 235mm. Put in a 10/5t with 2s and it is lots of fun with good speeds as is being showed during the races here in the Netherlands. The modified are wicked fast and it brings a smile on my face everytime i see them drive, specially when the nitro guys are looking like .

The only thing is that the wear of the tires and equipment is a little too much for me, that's why i chose to drive 10.5t. To dump a 5000mah lipo in less then 4 -5 minutes is not something i want to do.
