If tire costs are a problem, you can still source donuts for Pro10. I used to run Pink Rear, Purple Fronts, and could buy a full set of donuts for about $15. Made for cheap racing, and playing with all the compounds made for some interesting setups.

The Corally/MIX Nissan P35 is a repro of the protoform Nissan P35. The Corally/MIX Nissan GTP is a repro of Hotbodies Nissan GTP. They are both availlable here from Corally.

Wasn't the speed of the 235's that killed it? I would really like to see this class grow again and not have it die again because the cars were too fast!

235mm cars with 1s and a 10.5 or faster motors seems like a logical step up from WGT. However, I am not saying that human behavior is EVER logical!!

I run also 2S with 10.5 boosted but don't use up $40 on tires at 1 event and we run 3 qualifiers and at least 2 mains all 7 minutes.
I do use every heat a set all arround just once.
This to get even wear and longer lasting tires.
I can run 6 or 7 events with those tires if i don't chunk them.
Is it that you true them from new??

Regards Roy
I race on the same track as TheBigBull and our track is abrasive. I can only get 2 race nights on touring car tires. Sorex 36rs.

Problem was the cars slowly trickled down, and then we switched to WGT as many of the racers were complaining about the speeds being to high. (we ran 2S/10.5/Open ESC)

Tire wear with the 2s seems to be worse. $40.00 dollars of tires yields 2 race nights. 3 Qualifiers and a main, we have also gone to 6 minute races. WGT cars are seem to be much easier tires. I think next year will be WGT 1s for me.

Good to see you guys still running up in Canada BIGBULL. You thought of maybe bushwhacking some of the TC events up there and showing those cars off? I know indoors can be a challenge because of the small track size but I do recall the WCICS (or something like that) and Im sure you could show them off at those events with the WGT.

Shawn, where was your parking lot at?

I race with IROCC in the Victoria BC. The clip is an older one, so the res isn't the greatest, but it shows the size of lot. We currently run 13.5 Boosted WGT (1S) on it.

I decided it was time to pull a NOS Darkside I-Force Kit off the shelf and build it. I had traded a shop for this, thinking that someday I would like to build a new 235 kit. I had a new set of locator plates to make the front width and the IRS axle and hubs that I had run before, but could not find the wide rear body mount bar we had made back 6/8 years ago. But a call to Mr. Darkside and I should have it today .......

Car is a link set up with tri-shocks (need to finish the shocks and electronics) but this car has really worked well. I had taken our pan car class at the Hobby Town Classic for 5 out of 6 years, lost one year after making sure one of my buddies had second locked down and decided to go for the most laps run by any car electric or nitro incuding mod touring. Was on pace to make it and caught a pipe going onto the straight. Car went 40' - 60' off the track and into the parked cars ..... Trust me Grenade has been earned over the years.

Anyway thought I'd post a picture

Kinda in response to Toadyy's comment about getting a dedicated Pro10, If enough interest could be drummed up, Im sure Associated could be convinced to revive the 10L2 or maybe a 235 based somewhat on the 10R5 platform. Getting a new or rereleased Pro10 Yokomo might be a bit of a challenge but Im sure it could be done as well.

Whoa, long time since I've been in this thread but yes, that is Jim Bishop in that pic.

Boomer took a break from RC and followed me into full-scale RallyCross but then got married

If I still lived back down there, I'd definitely be into the Camarillo scene as that was always one of my favorite tracks anyway but up here, all we have for OnRoad within a hundred miles of me is a tiny carpet track with small turnouts.

Those were some fun days of racing. I now have a 18 year old son that keeps me on my toes with the 235MM cars.

Here are both our cars, BMI Converted to 235mm

Those were the GRP wheels sold under the TRC brand name in the U.S.

Dunno if they're still in the 1/10th business though.
