Default Track layout

Righto, Putting together a proposal to get an onroad track built on public land and then turning it over to the local council for the community to use.

Are there any particularly well known or highly regarded tracks that anyone could suggest so I could simply use the layout from? I'd need a top down shot of the track.

My local track has a great permanent on road track with multiple layout possibilities, and there is an overhead shot on their website http://leisurehoursraceway.com/

This track is one of the venues used for UK nationals and is held in high regard by a lot of drivers including worlds level UK drivers who mention it as their favourite!
It requires good driving, not just lots of power like far too many of the nitro tracks.

Can be adjusted for different layouts, though the 'Full GP' is the main layout used for nationals etc.
Track records etc at wlrc.co.uk

Here is a link to the 1/8 scale track in Toledo, Ohio, where the ROAR On-Road Nationals are being held this week.

Do you run those UK layouts clockwise or counter-clockwise and is the big straight directly in front of the drivers stand?

In Chicago on our outdoor asphalt track we run clockwise and have the big straight on the far side away from the driver's stand.

The straight is just in front of the drivers stand.

We run clockwise, though there is a second set of slots cut so the loop can be at the other end of the straight so we can run anti-clockwise occasionally.

Lostallo - Switzerland, is the biggest R/C track in the world. At least that's what I saw on Youtube.
