It is not actually the screw, but the round bit in the carbon that holds the screw. Anyone else have this problem? Cheers, Chris.
Yes. I like to run the motor as far forward as I can get it and a little grinding on the plate (and just a tick on the screw) allows me to get it MUCH further forward. Car was flat out PERFECT at Debby's last night.

Most people just run a smaller spur/pinion and run the motor further back.

The feel should be much closer to the mini-z, especially if you were running foams on your mini-z. Plus, the 12th scalers are far easier to get a base set-up with than most TC's.

I'm thinking so Mikey. Most of the time my 1/12 setup doesn't change. I just play with tire more than anything else. Everything else is personal preference in my opinion. 1/12s usually always handle like a slot car if they are built correctly

Does anyone have a link to the diagram showing which dimples are for which 1/12th scale on the Black Art bodies? I googled it but no luck.

I like being called kiddo!

I found the link. It should be in my original post.
IIC it is. I am sure I can get Yang to go as well. We just gotta work on Scotty when he's down here in Dallas over the summer. Hopefully we know before then though. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Oct. dates.

LMK if you need any help with the GXL.

Default New to me GEN XL

I recently picked up a gen xl. I have never raced 12th scale and want to give it a try. I would appricate if someone could pm a good base setup to work with. Understanding I have no 12th scale runs under my belt. I plan on using a sp 17.5 and hw 1 cell esc.

Thanks

Any links to balancing or any related 12th info would be appreciated.

The box stock setup works very well for a starting point. Start with Magenta front pink rear, or black front yellow rear for tires. Make sure that the side links and your pivot is free from any binding, as this can hurt the handling on your car substantially. Start with that and let me know if you need anything else.

Are any of you mounting the servo flat on the chassis? Its my understanding that it could make an already twitchy car, more nervous, due to increased ackerman. Is this this case? My goal is to get the servo as low as possible.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey, Steve!

I just switched to the flat servo on my Gen-XL 12. It is more agressive but so far, I think I like it better.
