Default CRC 1/12 Gen X Disscussion

After hunting around for a bit and asking some other members in various threads, no one could link to me a specific CRC Gen X 1/12 .

So, to get things started, what is a common starting setup that people have settled on for the Gen X?

What are some parts to have in your pit box with part numbers?

What foam bumpers fit properly on the Gen X?

Well, except for a few front end tweaks I am running a basically stock set up. I haven't gone lipo yet but hope to do some 1s lipo testing saturday.

Don't know what items you should get but I was shopping for CRC Pro-strut for an older CRC car and couldn't find it on their website but I found all sorts of CRC parts at Nexusracing.com There were various bumpers available.

thanks for the info! I got a used Gen X in in good shape with the brushless rear pod and some tires. Just need to see what is a good setup, confirm if I have the parts to do it, and go from there. I plan to do 1S lipo.

Setup for a GenX is pretty simple for carpet.

Red main spring, White side springs, 0.018 front springs. Heavy tube lube, and 30WT in the main shock. 10deg castor blocks (2 washers rear, 1 forward), and 2 deg camber. 1 deg toe out. Run black fronts, white or gray-low rears.

is there any news about revised chassis plate(s) from CRC? specifically I would be interested in a main chassis plate that's pre-drilled to accept CRC's new long side links (similar to those on the Assoc 12R5) and perhaps a chassis that's milled or otherwise designed for the new 1cell lipo packs that everybody is going to. Anybody heard if such revisions and update parts are in the pipeline?

Your right. Darn metric! On the GenX front end its the .45mm (the real soft ones). The .5mm is closer to the .20 spring.

I start the night with 4mm ride height, car is flat. 1mm droop for the rear pod. By the end of the night (3 quals, 1 main) I am borderline 3mm (which is our clubs minimum height)

4Cell setup. I dont plan on making any changes for the switch to 1S, unless I have to.

Shawn.
