used xray T2'008 or a T2R Pro... both are right around $300

http://cgi.ebay.com/Xray-T2008-6-cel...d=p3286.c0.m14 (really good deal)

http://cgi.ebay.com/XRAY-T2008-T2008...d=p3286.c0.m14 (The ECS drive shafts are $100 alone)

those are both T2'008's

this is a car youll have tobuild your self..... http://www.nexusracing.com/product_i...oducts_id=2443

also a great car.

If I was going to spend $270 I would buy the T2'008 on ebay, its a little better made car its all carbon instead of graphite, it has the hudy spring steel axles instead of the aluminum ones that youll bend as soon as you hit somthing, it has the aluminum hubs instead of plastic ones and few other better made parts.....

Just one small correction the T2R is not graphite at all. It is fiberglass, it is the same material that printed circuit boards are made of (also known as Garolite). I just built a T2R for fun and it was NICE. I did however turn around and sell it. I'm a Losi guy at heart, so its a JRXS Type R for me, built that one too.

When you say "middle of the road" do you have a budget in mind or something? I have seen a decent amount of used 009's for around $300. As far as 008s and older, the ones linked look good. I think the only difference is the color and lipo support? If you don't have a budget, just get an 009, call it a day and enjoy putting your new car together.

Used 008s are a smart buy right now.

I'd have to agree. There is something to be said about buying a new kit and not having to worry about missing the small bits the original owner didn't need, like servo horns. Besides building a kit is so much fun.

Agreed, in a few months the 009's will be good buys since the 010's will be out...

yes the only difference between 008 and 009 is the color of aluminum... any of these 3 cars will fit a lipo just fine...

Actually, the T2R pro is made of GRP, not fiberglass. In fiberglass they use epoxy resin to bond the fibers, in GRB they use plastic (usually nylon or ABS).
