If by "gun" you mean radio, then there will be absolutely no issues from brand to brand. I run a DX3, which is based on an old JR radio, and I run Futaba servos with no problems.

+1.

If you are looking at a good used servo, the Futaba S9550 would be a good choice too.

I've had my 9550 for about 3 years, with no faults...

I have Futaba 9551, KO 2413 and the latest Sanwa SDX801. All low profile and digital. I like Sanwa the most coz of the speed and the reasonable price, 2nd the KO and last the Futaba. Somehow the 9551 feels a bit slow to me, however the BLS version of it should be a bit faster. I m yet to get that one too.

Sanwa SDX801 low profile digital servo is a metal gear servo. I just opened the upper case just to make sure. So far its the best servo for me. At 6V the speed is 0.08/60deg, torq 6.4kg/cm. Weight 50g.

I m also using this servo with my EX10 in Hi Speed mode (at the module) 2 channel select (from the menu). No problem at all. In fact before this I was using the Futaba 9551 in that mode too with no problem. BTW my system is not 2.4G, its the normal 40Mhz crystal with KR302f receiver.
