No it was just the weight. I have ran my old chassis back to back 6/5cell and 5cell was always faster. 6cell was sometimes faster than 5 over a full race on a large track though. This was just a runtime/power issue. Every chassis will go faster at 1420g than 1500g but a poorly balanced chassis will gain no benefit. Unfortunatly there are people out there with heavy cars that will lose out to the new limit.

For those who say 1420g will be less breakage, here is a picture of my Xray top deck from this past weekend. My car was at 1423g in race trim.

The only opinion I have is simple. I hate having to put almost two full sticks of lead in a car. All of the cars are going to break does not matter if 1420 or 1500. We have some of the coolest toys and then we have to stick ugly a$$ lead all over. Hate it.

Tim,

Curious how did this kind of damage occur on your Xray?????

I hope you did not bend any rear bulkheads.

Regards,

Chicane of death with a 13.5. Enough said.

Bulkheads are all straight still. Tore the whole car down the next day to inspect. It was a very solid hit. Solid enough to pop the front belt loose as well.

That hit was no joke. Like a trainwreck. I almost took my eyes off of my car when I heard it. The impact pushed 2 3' long bricks @ 4' away from the board he hit. No car at any weight would have survived that one. Tim always provides great entertainment tho

This is why I like carpet racing. The chassis and top deck are much thicker.

Okay so sorry if this question has been asked but is the new weight for tc 1420 or is it just for this race?

Really? I read it as a deviation just for that race.

Well I could be wrong but I have no idea why they would deviate just for this race. If there is any rules to change for this race it is to not run a qual points system.
