Do you know what the actual measurement is? I just want to make sure I don't have issues.

Default Mabuchi 540 27 Turn Gearing in F1-09

I am overheating 540 motors on a carpet track 63 feet by 33 feet 8 second laps. My highest gear tested has been 108/24 = FDR of 4.5 and a Rollout of 1.54. How high does the gear need to be to avoid destroying these motors from overheating? Smoke from the rear of the car looks cool but not a desired result.

Any help appreciated!

I used the 3Racing servo tray for F104 (# F104-03/LB)

You must build two columns and use longer screws

My question is, what would be a good setup for the rubber floor and would I have a chance racing against the touring cars? It is a run what you brung kinda race and the only thing you win is bragging rights. I would be running a Novak Havoc 2S system with the 10.5 motor (my spare from my Blitz).

Will the F109 be able to run with the touring cars without breaking?
Can anyone help?
I need to make up my mind but input would be helpful before I make the plunge.

I don't want to invest in this car if I will have nothing but problems running it with touring cars.. I don't care about winning as much as having fun and not have to repair the car everytime I run it.

You will have a problem running it with 4wd touring cars. Speed might be similar but you will have to take different lines on the corners and this will cause collisions.

Also as you are open wheeled you will usually come of worse in a collision.

My other problem is knowing if it will have traction on a rubber gym floor with the foam tires. I can't prep the tires or the floor because it might leave marks.

You have a UNIQUE floor situation----find out if there are foam tires working with the touring cars---I'm sure you can get foam tires working with the F-1!! You might also have great luck with the RIDE rubber tires made for F-1.
FYI

Very unique!

All of the TC run standard rubber slicks or HPI X-pattern tires and this works very well. Not a single car on foam though so I don't have a reference.

Foam generally has grip on everything so it should work.

Now I just have to hope that the F1 car can take a hit from a TC car and not explode into 1000 parts! I'm no pro but there are some hacks that have no regard for peoples fine tuned machines!

You could be too far under geared. I usually roll out around 45-48mm on a 90x40 track, you're at 39mm right now. Is it just screaming all over the track?

F1's tried foam tyres at Don Valley Stadium in the UK on their indoor rubberised running track and they didn't work

Hi guys, am currently using LRP QC3 esc in the F109, fitting was just nice. Would like to know if the Xerun 120/60A esc fits in the car well? Or do I need to go for the smaller Xtreme Stock? Feedbacks appreciated, thanks!

Default Ride rubber tires

is there a guide to the Ride rubber tires that explains which compounds are used ( hard to soft ). I want to pick up a set when I get my F109 but don't know which ones to get.
