stripped screw

I have a screw on the bottom of the chassis that is stripped out. I'm having a hard time trying to dremel a notch on the screw since it'll cut into the chassis as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

two options

1 - get a screw removal tool - you drill into the screw a bit, and it will have screw-like threads that are left hand thread that bite into the drilled out area that grab the screwhead tighter when you turn it anti-clockwise

2 - drill off the head of the screw using a drill bit that is the same diameter as the body of the screw that you are trying to take out. when it falls off and you can get whatever it was holding free from the chassis, grab the protruding tip with pliers and take it out that way.

try a hardware store, tell them your problem, and what i remember is there is a "drill bit" that when goes in certain direction it grabs into the steel and then when you reverse it locks into it, thus enabling you to slowly unscrew the stripped screw.i saw it being used with a drill.hope this helps.:batman:

take the entire bulkhead off except for that one screw. the twist the part that the stripped screw is stuck into to the left. it will become loose and you will be able to take it out.

Get a small flathead screwdriver, put it on the top of the stripped screw, and use small hammer to knock in the screw and then twist it out

Take the dremel, make a slot on the head and carefull take out the screw with a flathead screwdriver.
