LRP/Nosram X12 13.5t Stock Spec motor
I have recently purchased the Nosram X12 13.5 t motor but am struggling to find the correct gearing ratio.
I am running a Schumacher Mi4LP, LRP SPX and Lipo.
I was running with LRP SPX esc on profile 7.
For practice the motor was geared at 5.96 (106/32) and even though not pushing it too hard, after the 5 minute practice it came off at 190 deg F (90ish deg C)and the esc was warm also. Ooops.
Changed it for first run to 6.15 and changed to profile 5 on speedo (106/31),
this helped but then lacked performance but temp was down to 150 deg F (65 deg C).
Eventually settled for 5.78 (106/33) which kept the temp to about 150 deg f ish for rest of meeting but esc still on profile 5 but performance still down.
I belive that the SPX must not be run on any profile higher than 6.
Also been told that the motor must be allowed to rev as it is designed to run at higher revs than any other 13.5t motor, so was going to try SPX on Profile 6 and motor ratio of 6.5 ish.
Any help or advice would be most greatfull.

With my 17.5 X12 I found the -5 degree timing insert to work well with profile 6 on the SPX. Also, the motor seems to run better at high temps like 180-200 F. It does not seem to fade at those temps like some other motors do.

The manual for the motor specifically says not to use profiles 7 & 8. People have been struggling to make this motor as fast as those that can take advantage of the advanced timing ESC's. I'd be interested to see how the motor would work with a smaller rotor, less physical timing, and more aggressive ESC profiles.
