Can someone share a good setup for carpet racing for the OFNA JL10e?

Thanks in advance.

Just got mine today!

What shock oil do you put in yours?

Mine are empty but I got a bunch of shock oil in stock here, just don't know which one to use.

I plan on drifting in the street or on carpet.

Don't plan to race it.

Thanks!

Currently I'm running Associated 60wt front and 40wt rear. That may change on Saturday after I see our new track layout. Not really sure what weight you should be looking at for drifting.

I've filled them all with AE 50wt... we'll see how it goes.

Just a thought...wouldn't some of the CD3, LD3 parts fit this car as it looks very similar suspension/drivetrain wise...spool from CD3, pillowball suspension, blade style swaybar
the gear housings are identical except the cd3 has an extra screw boss on the top
my CD3 is 197mm wide with 26mm tires with the o-ring style hexes.

Yes, probably for the JL10e drift version (OB4 re hash). The Ho Bao JL10e touring car on the other hand is completely different. It has C-hub carriers up front, no PB suspension.

thats what i mean, you should easily be able to put the pb suspension onto the JL. The bolt pattern for the diff hsgings are identical

Awesome! I'd love to see that done! I'm tired of breaking C-carriers.

it looks like you could take the whole assembly, aluminum steering rack and all, swap out the gears in the CD3 diff housing for the ball carriers and bolt it in. The other option is if you have the ld/cd3 just get the carbon chassis and swap the rest over. You would have to get the jl motor mount and spur gear, battery holder, driveshaft etc.

Hi there,

Just wanted to show you a few pics of the JL10E that i bought recently but it seems I am not allowed to post links/images...

You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made a certain number of posts. You have not reached that limit yet.

How many messages do I need?

Default Parts to convert to pillowball suspension

Below is a list of parts required to change to pillow ball. Not sure if the CVDs are required. You would also need to make 2 short spacers to go on top of the diff case to mount the top plate. This may widen the suspension by 2mm overall as my CD3 seems to be 197mm wide. I included the graphite shock tower kit as I do not think the stock plastic tower would work and it is quite flexy The weak point on this setup is the graphite rear upper pin holder. they tend to break if the wheel contacts anything semi solid. The good thing is you can still run with one broken so you won't DNF a race.

Also if one wanted to convert the diffs to gears this would be possible using the LD3/CD3 parts.

Parts to Convert to Pillow ball Frt Suspension

Part # Description QTY Price

OFN38251 Diff case 1 $5.06
OFN38265 Frt Knuckle 1 $5.06
OFN38269 CVA driveshaft 1 $30.56
OFN38399 Arm set 1 $13.56
OFN39140 Pillowball set (4) 2 $10.12
OFN39141 Washer, insert 2 $6.72
OFN39150 Screw set 2 $5.06
OFN38442 Shock Tower kit 1 $42.46
OFN38261 Upper Arm shaft 1 $3.36
OFN38262 Lower Arm shaft 1 $3.36

Total Nitrohouse price $125.32
