Project Help a Noob
Picked up a 12R5 and a Novak 17.5 sensored brushless motor. Looking for a decent budget speed control. Does it have to be a Novak only controller, to connect the sensor wires, or are controllers universal in that respect? I don't plan on racing, just some parking lot speed fun. I've been looking at SMC's lipo 3.7V 4000mAh pack, Speedzone has a 5000mAh coming out I've been eyeballing. Was wondering if I could shoe horn something like this in there: smc-racing.com/lv_sum4925sp.htm. What size pinion should I run just for parking lot speed bashing? Been out of RC since '91, this is my first car since, don't know why I picked 1/12 for parking lot stuff, but I got it, want to run it, and most likely will break it.
Any help would be great, thanks.

not exactly, the GM speedo has got a different sensor, you need to have a special sensorcable for GM Speedo's, 2 of the small wires inside the cable are swapped.

I would look at finding the smoothest piece of car lot you can, or your chassis is going to take a beating!
Power is nothing without control, so take it nice and easy to start with and you should be fine
