Waaayyy back in the mid 90's we were paying $125.00 per 6 cell pack of 1700SCRC NiCd's that were "matched", "optimized" or "pushed".
These were good for one run per day as to keep them at their peak. You charged them, let them cool, bumped them before the race and ran them. Let them cool, discharge them on the rack and then "battery bug" them for 8 hours or more.
Soooooo.... To race a weekend and practice properly you had to have 6-8 packs. Lipo's too expensive?? HA!
