The XERUN 60A/120A V2.0 can only work with 2s and 3s lipo. There isn't a DC-DC booster in the ESC, so it cannot work with 1s Lipo.

But we are just developing an ESC supports 1s Lipo.

Yes, we don't recommend using 1s lipo for XERUN-120A/60A even if you are using an external DC-DC booster.

If an ESC works reliablely with 1s lipo, the lowest working voltage should be less than 2.7V, but XERUN-120A/60A ESC can only works with a minimum voltage of 3.0-3.2V (Ignoring the function of built-in BEC)

Hobbywing will release its 1s ESC ASAP. The R&D department is working hard at it and everything seems OK by now. so we are confident about this new product.

Any plans for new firmware updates for the 150A? It would be awesome to see a current limiter feature.

Deciding wether to go spec esc/motor class that my local track has or just get the xerun with a duo/duo 2 17.5 and have a blast trying to play with all the cool turbo/superchrge/timing options it has....what do you think?! I am new to RC. Thanks in Advance

Jay
as far as i know this is under development the 1s lipo you would be best to run a seperate bec for such a big servo i would say defo go for the xerun but only if you whant to win races edit as above .lol..

The turbo timing technology is generally applied for EP on-road touring car ESC, we need to do some tests for big ESCs such as XERUN-150A, they are normally used for 1:8 scale buggy and truggy, I really don't know what will happen when the turbo timing is activated in such a big car.

But it will be interesting to do the tests

Actually, I really don't think turbo timing is needed on the 1/8 offroad cars, especially since the trend nowadays is to dial down power to make things controllable. We're already overpowered as it is. A nice feature I'd like to recommend is a current limiter feature similar to that found in the Tekin RX8. It'll help maintain traction by limiting the amount of current (and therefore, torque) supplied during acceleration to make things more driveable. Right now, my DDRS start setting is at Level I, zero timing and still feel I have way more punch than I need.

But anyway I know this is an onroad thread but I like to post questions here since this is the most active Hobbywing thread. Sorry onroad guys .

A Good setup that we fund and efficient on 1/8th Off-road is a Big motor like 2600KV and 3S lipo... It's fast enough and controlable but with turbo it will help it more to clear jumps with ease...

I tried 4S Lipo way too much power it's insane.... With track that my friend design clearing 45ft triple I say you will need a turbo..

What motor were you running with the 4S battery? I personally wouldn't run any motor rated for more than 2100KV on 4S. The Tekin 1900KV or Neu 1850KV are probably the best options for power, smoothness and efficiency.

The problem with HIgh KV and Low Voltage setups is that they are inefficient and typically run hot during summer months. I personally went the other route: Low KV (1400KV) motor on 6S. 5S would work too, just add timing advance if you need more top end. My setup runs cool and efficient at 140-200mah/min @ average temps of 110F (pretty good for a big car huh). Low KV motors are also smoother than higher KV setups. The turbo feature is not a bad idea for 1/8 offroad for those who feel that they need it, but my guess is most people won't use it.

I got my 60A from ebay. You can also get them from rcfans-88.com or himodel.com. They're all in China. If you get EMS shipping from rcfans-88 or himodel, you should get them in a bout a week or so. Not too bad.

I use to run Castle MMM with 2650KV motor and TP 5000 3S on D8 works awesome... Motor temp and battery temp is around 150-160 degrees... I did an extensive testing since I own a Off-road track and for the track size that we have 200x140 this battery and motor combo it's not problem and it's very efficient when we did the testing. And it's a lot faster than 4S lipo since your car is a lot lighter....

Well after trying several more pc's / laptops i think the Hobbywing lcd programmer is not compatible with Intel processors. I've found 3 pc's / laptops that the programmer works on and all are using an AMD processor. Not happy as i only have Intel based computers
