What is your favour tire and why?
Hi,
I just want to know what tire you guys are using in your On-Road car:
- Brand & Model number
- Size
- Material
- Why you think it is good for you
- DIY tyre?
- You do the tyre trimming by yourself with tire machine?
No matter EP or nitro car, 1:8, 1:10, 1:12, 1:18 all welcome!
Thank you for all your feedback!!!

i race outdoor using rubber tyres on my 416WE
i use sorex 32s preglued on RP wheels
i used to use Vtec30s but they wear too quickly and after the first run they are never as good
the Sorex32s are great wearing , great grip and they have good grip right to the end and beyond LOL usually just as quick on the canvas as they are new

I know I'm gonna get laughed at but I LOVE treaded tires! I actually have a few stock Losi Rally Weapon sets and still love to use them on asphalt. Tuning needs to be spot on and the speed isn't as fast, but for realism, it's just what I need. Anyone else a treaded tire fan?

They have pretty good grip in the Pro compound, and if you're in the mood, a quick flip of the wheel has awesome, controllable drifts.
However, with the current body I have... There's practically no rear downforce at all... So it's pretty much a drift on every corner
Every once and awhile, give 'em a shot of simple green to clean the dust off, and you're good to go!
Though, I wouldn't mind picking up a good set of stick like glue tires...

Pretty much all the events now run to a spec'd tire, so you don't get a choice. For club racing then just usually using up 'old' ones from previous meetings. In the UK the popular tires are (all are pre-mounted),
-Sorex 32 (used for National series)
-Sorex 28 (for some carpet series)
-Sweep 32 (for other carpet series)
-Corally/Take Off SSB (control tire for a regional series)

I only run on outdoors asphalt and the best value for money I think is Sorex 32s or 36s. They last ages and have a very large window of great grip if you have a decent set up and prep them well. They can even be brought back from the dead when you think there is nothing left in them. Some tyres may give you a bit better performance but at a faster wear rate and I think the average club racer would not know the difference. I know i cant really tell that much

sorex pre-mounts are great, but don't forget about take off cs-27's. they have a larger heat range then any one heat range of sorex tires and last as long or longer, plus they are more resistant to blistering then sorex's in my experience.
both are fast and work great.

My favorite is whatever the spec tire is for a particular event.

Has anyone use the takeoff cs27 anymore? Are they the same as they were from couple of years ago? Those were my favorite for sure, infact I still have one that is about 2 years that I threw on last week for the main and took first place
