What Touring car has had the most sales and what touring car has the best overall track-record??

AE TC3 I'd say. Was the first true high performance TC. Still competitive today as well.

Have to agree. The TC3 has been discontinued for years, and it's still being raced, and sold today. You can find a good used TC3 at most Clubs, or tracks. Odds are, it'll be pre-setup for racing. The TC4 is probably the second most sold car, with the TC5 close behind.

i never own 1 but i think the most successful TC that still sell now is HB Cyclone... it's been there for years, still selling n winning (or most of the time made it to A Main)... it's kinda good for other manufacturer to follow what has been doing by HB... it's always evolution instead of revolution... u don't have to change the whole car to make a small adjustment... u can always come up with upgrade parts for futher improve... xray not my game, not impress with it at all... every year a new car..?

Don't forget that the TC3 gearboxes are used in the Nitro TC3 and there have been electric 4wd buggies based of the TC3 drive-train. In "stock" classes the TC3 can still be competitive, and is a very durable car. You can also still buy a TC4 as a RTR kit, and it is very similar to the TC3.

Before the TC3, you could say the basic design of the HPI RS4 Pro/Pro2 had a pretty long shelf life as well. A lot of components are shared with the Nitro RS4's as well. While there are better cars available today, it would be interesting to see how an old RS4 would perform with a "mod" brushless motor.

my buddies got an rs4 with a 13.5 in it. He doesn't race, just likes to come with me on practice days and have fun. Anyway, we have tuned the car the best we can. It is very limited in tuning. You can't adjust the rear toe for example.

Of course with the 13.5 he beats me down the straits. We just can't seem to keep his corner speed on par with my tc4 or tc5.

It's nice to hear someone is still running their RS4...BTW the rear uprights came in 0, 1, 2, and 3 degree versions.

Tc3..they brought the car out in 99, and it was only replaced in 05? 04? by a car that wasn't as well received. They owned carpet racing on foams for that period of time. Only the FK04 really did anything to break into the Tc3's popularity on carpet. Not to mention, the car won Reedy races, national titles, etc.etc. The Factory Team car was like $225-250(!) at hobby shops...What's the old German racing axiom-"Slightly more performance at four times the price". The Tc3 was a huge factor in making tc racing popular, as it was a great price for a high end car.

Still today, you see guys with Tc3 cars. It's a great car to learn on, and you can still get the parts, 10 years later. Really, it's the RC10 of the touring car world.

The Tc3, Mr4TC and the Losi G+ were all examples of cars when the boom of sedans hit its stride. The combination of performance and price made on road sedans a big draw. The kits were on par price wise with electric offroad kits as well, which I think helped in popularity. Always thought that was a fun time in sedan racing history. I can remember waiting to see what car won the Reedy or Cleveland. The Tc3 was a car that has to be in the "Sedan Hall of Fame". Very popular car with tons of wins. I was a Losi G+ guy....back when Losi had a very good On Road team. I enjoy these threads as people get on here and chat about the history of racing.

Man, I had the original MR4TC something like 7-8 years ago. That and the TC3 were probably at the top of their game, then game the XXXS.
