Ask Todd Hodge..aka "Hodgimoto"

It's not the plugs that are the problem, it's the extra solder joints. If you hardwire, you have solder at the esc, and at the battery. If you use plugs, you have solder on both ends of the plug, 2 times the solder joints, more resistance.

Todd,

How did the Carpet Nationals go for you?
#2
Can you detail once again which bearings sizes are required for the new JRX-S? I, and others, want to order ceramics.
Here was one response (from TCR) to the original question.
Bill I believe it's
8 - 3/16 x 3/8
4 - 5mm x 8mm
4 - 1/2 x 3/4
2 - 4mm x 8mm
4 more 5 x 8 if you want them for the steering rack
Many thanks.

JRXS Bill-The race went ok. I ended up 6th qualifier and overall 8th in mod. In 19t I was 10th qualifier and 5th in the mains.
Bearings-4x8mm= 2, 3/16x3/8=8, 1/2x3/4=4, 5x8mm=8(both diffs and steering rack). For the steering rack and diffs I would not worry about those for ceramic. Those are mainly just support bearings and do not see much movement like the other bearings do.

Todd,
This may be a bit more complex than the bearings; but, can you provide a list of all the screws required on the JRX-S?
Want to put together an order for titanium screws. Many thanks.

4-40x3/8" Flatheads=40
4/40x3/8" Capheads=14
4/40x1/2" Capheads=4
4/40x3/8" Buttonheads=10
That should be really close.

Tech Regular
Bill My old Yokomo was a three wire. I used deans plugs on the motor and sermos plugs on the battery. Simply because I could route the negative and Positive wire separately. Worked good enough for me. I'll probably use that same setup again. I already got the connectors.

This weekend is the first race in the NorCal Touring Car Championship Series. I'll watch for any of the fast guys in Stock, 19T or Mod are using any connectors as opposed to soldering. I expect to solder with my JRX-S as I already do with my 12th scale cars.
