Hong Kong Plaza Hollywood RC Race
All,
Hopefully someone can help.....
A while ago I saw a video online of an RC touring car race in the centre of a shopping mall in Hong Kong - spectators could watch from upper levels at the racing, it looked great! I think the video was actually taken looking down at the drivers?
I am trying to organise something similar, can anyone send me a link?
Thanks,
Dan

Hello Dan,
I know that place, it's not far from Speed Passion HeadQuarters in HK.
We had a Reedy Race of Asia back in 2005 with Hara, Masami, Surikarn, Baker etc. It was really cool and the people could watch the races from three levels up!
I think this is the best way to promote RC racing!
Best regards,
Jilles Groskamp

I was racing with Niels Koenekoop at the weekend and he was there, told me it was great!
Perhaps you will come to a similar one in the UK if I manage to organise it!
Cheers,
Dan

Guys this has been given the go ahead!
The shopping centre is built onto and under the same roof as the citys main train station and has a big hotel on site along with restaurants, cinema and more!
Check out www.unionsquareaberdeen.com
More details coming soon as I'm on my iPod touch and it's not all that easy to put too much on here.
Hope you will all come and show the busy weekend shoppers what our great hobby is all about

Indoor shopping cenrre race:
Union Square GP, 17th & 18th April, Aberdeen Scotland

This will be spectacular!
It's brand new - a very smart mall.
The track will be built in the atrium of the centre, down the escalators from the Jury's Inn hotel and cineworld cinema/numerous eating establishments.
We also have a special deal on room rates and will be pitting from hotel conference rooms.
You can see the area for the track on the ground floor here:
Here's a pic of the area from the street through the glass doors:
